Enzo Amore suffers injury at WWE Payback

Update (10:24 p.m. ET): Just before the Payback main event, Michael Cole revealed that Enzo Amore suffered a concussion earlier tonight and that all other tests have come back negative. More details are expected tomorrow night on RAW.

Update (9:08 p.m. ET): Michael Cole revealed Enzo Amore is now undergoing testing. He did indicate that Amore has been able to communicate with medical staff.

Enzo Amore appeared to have been legitimately knocked out during tonight’s WWE Payback PPV in Chicago. During the opening match featuring Amore and Colin Cassady against The Vaudevillains to determine new No. 1 Contenders for the WWE World Tag Team Championships, Simon Gotch tossed Amore to the ropes and Amore caught his head on the second and bottom rope on the way out. Amore was then seen gasping for air and appeared to have been legitimately knocked out as a result.

The referee immediately called off the match as medical staff attended to Amore. Amore was put on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital. Michael Cole continued to provide updates throughout the first hour of Payback revealing that Amore was taken to a local hospital in Chicago, was now talking and “moving extremities.”

WWE posted a clip of the injury involving Amore that you can view below.
