Professional wrestling legends Fritz Von Goering and Larry Hennig will be radio show guests Wednesday night.

Fritz Von Goering is one of five wrestlers who will be inducted into the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in Waterloo, Iowa on July 11. He will also be appearing at the pro wrestling show put on by Harley Race’s World League Wrestling on Friday, July 10 at Young Arena in Waterloo. Von Goering was a street tough kid from Chicago who had his debut in 1950 and won numerous regional titles in his 27-year career.

Larry Hennig was a high school state wrestling champion in Minnesota before embarking on a successful career as a professional wrestler. First known as Larry ?Pretty Boy? Hennig, he later became Larry ?The Axe? Hennig. He teamed with Harley Race to win several world tag team titles and was a singles star as well. Hennig was inducted into the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2006. Larry’s son, the late Curt Hennig, known in the ring as ?Mr. Perfect,? was also inducted into the HOF in 2007, making them the first father and son combination in the hall. Hennig’s granddaughter, Amy Hennig, will again be on the card performing at Young Arena in Waterloo on July 10. Hennig will also be appearing at the show to meet fans and sign autographs.
