This week's show opened with Goldylocks talking about the tag team Gauntlet for the Gold match. She brought out Scott Hall, who said that he had a great partner for the show. Goldy asked if it was Sean Waltman, and Hall said yes. Waltman came in and he and Hall left.

Don West and Mike Tenay previewed the night's show, then threw us to a pre-tape where Brian Lawler was waiting for Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett arrived and told Lawler that he has had enough of Brian thinking he did something with his girlfriend April. He told Lawler that his girlfriend was playing him for a chump and he should go find who she "was doing now".

Back to live action, Jarrett came out the ring. He called for Bob Armstrong to bring out the Bullet right now, or he would head to the back and beat "The Depends" off of Armstrong. When Bullet didn't come out, Jarrett came to the back and grabbed Armstrong. The Bullet came up from behind Jarrett and grabbed him. Bullet took Jarrett to the ring and beat up on him before unmasking himself as Bob Armstrong's son Brian. Brian explained that in the past he was Jeff's friend as the Roadie, but Jarrett left him. James then said that he was a part of Degeneration X in the WWF. He said he had a change of heart since then, and then told Jarrett that if he went after his father, he went after him. Brian said that he would grab a partner and would go for the gold tonight. He said he is now known as B. G. James.

They went to the back, where Goldy was with Sonny Siaki and Jorge Estrada. She asked him about his recent change of heart. He said that he realized it's not about him. It's about the team, the Flying Elvises. They came to get tag team gold, and they will do it tonight. He also said that Jerry Lynn had the chance tonight to put the X Division on the map when he got his NWA Title shot against Ron Killings. He said he was pulling for Lynn.

The opening match saw AJ Styles take on Kid Kash. Styles took the mic and said that Siaki can speak for himself, that he wasn't pulling for Lynn tonight. He made it clear that he most certainly was not pulling for Lynn, saying he wanted his title belt back. This led into their match, which was a hard fought affair that saw AJ win with the Styles Clash off of the top rope.

In the back, Goldy interviewed Marcus Bagwell. He said that he was here to show the people that he deserves a second chance. As he was talking, B. G. James came up and said that he has lived exactly what Bagwell had said. He asked Bagwell to be his partner tonight, and Bagwell accepted.

Jeremy Borash then interviewed Dustin "Screech" Diamond. Diamond said that everyone was great to him in the back and it was great to be there. They talked about Diamond beating up Horshak on Fox's Celebrity Boxing. Borash asked when Diamond would enter the ring. Diamond said he didn't have any training but he could easily beat Borash. Jeremy deflected the heat, saying he wasn't a fighter but Don West was. West said that he wasn't a wrestler, but Tiny the Bellkeeper was. Diamond said that he would kill Tiny, so the boxing match was on. It didn't last long as Diamond knocked out Tiny in about 20 seconds to win the match.

The next match was a three way bout that would determine which team would not be in the Gauntlet for the Gold. The teams of Ace Steele and CM Punk, Wylde and Rave and The Hot Shots would fight with the losing team being knocked out of the chance for the gold. The Hot Shots were eliminated Steele KO'd them.

Goldy interviewed James Storm and Chris Harris. They were excited that they finally have the chance to get the NWA Tag Titles.

Scott Hall then came to the ring with his partner Sean "Syxx Pac" Waltman. Hall said that Syxxpac was one of his real friends in the business and that he would work for nothing to tag with him. Waltman said that he was here in TNA because he wanted to be a wrestler, not a sports entertainer. Ron Harris and Brian Lee then attacked them from behind. Hall and Waltman quickly came back and Hall laid out Lee with The Edge.

In the back, Goldy interviewed Brian Lawler. Lawler just wanted to know where his girlfriend April was. Goldy asked him if he was going to focus on his match and he said his situation with April was life and death.

Jeremy Borash then brought out NASCAR's Hermie Sadler. Mike Tenay announced that NWA TNA will be the primary sponsor of Hermie Sadler's car on October 12. Hermie said that he enjoyed his time in the ring in TNA and talked about the TNA sponsorship on October 12. Sadler joined the announce position.

Miss TNA Bruce then came out. He once again ragged on Mike Tenay's wife. Then he called out any woman to fight him. Bruce then picked a nice looking woman, who he erroneously said was fat, out of the crowd and she came in and took him on. Bruce attacked her as soon as she came into the ring, and Sadler didn't like it. Bruce scored a quick pin and then mocked Sadler. He went back and attacked the girl when Sadler ran in and attacked Bruce.

Goldy interviewed Jerry Lynn. He said he is happy to be the X Division champ, but that Ron Killings was the best, right now. Killings stormed in and said he is the best now, and from now on. He told Lynn that the only way for him to win the title is by killing him.

It was then time for the Gauntlet for the Gold to determine the NWA Tag Team Champions. The rules were that one man at a time entered in one minute intervals. When the match got down to two men, their partners came back and joined them and the teams battled for the gold. It was a hard fought battle that came down to Brian Lee and Chris Harris, which mean that Chris Harris and James Storm would take on Brian Lee and Ron Harris for the NWA Tag Titles. Harris and Storm bucked the odds and got the win when Harris rolled up Lee to score the pinfall.

In the back, B. G. James was laid out on the floor and was a bloody mess. Tenay and Don West said that it was Jeff Jarrett who did the deed.

The main event was the battle of the champions as NWA Heavyweight Champion Ron Killings took on X Division Champion Jerry Lynn. Lynn was busted open early and bled throughout the match. Killings was in control most of the match. Near the end, many of X Division wrestlers came to ringside to watch the match and cheer Lynn on. That ended up being the Waterloo for Lynn when Sonny Siaki crotched Jerry as he was climbing to the top rope. Obviously, Siaki's earlier words about uniting the X Division were a ruse.

Don West then announced that next week we would see Jeff Jarrett vs. B. G. James and Syxx Pac vs. Brian Lawler.

B. G. James came out and said he would get Jarrett next week when Killings attacked James. Jarrett came out and they attacked James two-on one until Syxx Pac and Hall made the save and took out Jarrett and Killings.
