The show started with Roddy Piper coming out. Yes, the biggest show they've ever had was doing a one-shot cameo and they never advertised it. He hates what Vince Russo did to wrestling, but he's not above putting Russo over. Not only that, but he used Owen Hart's death, claiming that Russo killed his cousin Owen (Roddy does consider Bret his cousin). Piper went on a rant. The idea was that he was plugging an internet PPV shoot interview on Friday, which I just plugged more effectively than he did. He complained about 320 pound Samoans in a thong sitting on people's faces. He got a standing ovation coming out, and sustained, and lost the crowd somewhere in there. He wore a shirt with names like Owen Hart, Art Barr, Rick Rude, Adrian Adonis and Brian Pillman's name on it with a black arm band. Russo finally came out and sold nothing for Piper, but also said nothing as Piper continued his rant.

1. Divine Storm defeated Jose & Joel Maximo when Trinity gave both Maximos low blows as they were about to do the Spanish fly and Quiet Storm pinned Jose in 7:33. Slow motion Lucha and really sloppy. Crowd was quiet. Even if these guys had a good match, it would be hard to follow Piper

Vince Russo did a promo promising the fans blood, violence, nudity, and vulgarity. They liked that. Jeremy Borash flipped off Russo. Russo blamed Piper for using Owen's death to sell books. Russo said he's starting a movement called Sports Entertainment Extreme, and asked what those initial spell. Well, nobody accused him of knowing how to spell. He said everybody wants Athena (there are always signs in the crowd that say to hire Athena for those who have never seen the show, a local valet). He brought out Athena and they popped. He told her to take her top off and show her breasts. She refused. He called he ugly and a whore and pie-faced her until the Harris Twins pulled him off, although they were laughing. The Harris Twins then joined Russo. Bob Armstrong was upset and cut a promo on the Twins saying he's going to put them in a tag match later. Mike Tenay talked about siding with the guy who has won wrestling wars for 30 years. Is Carlos Colon coming in? They never mentioned who this guy in the back is.

2. Chris Harris defeated Brian Lee in 5:12 with a desperation spear after selling the whole match. They need to do something with Harris.

Bob, playing the role of J.J. Dillon in WCW (the figurehead of a doomed company who is supposed to be the babyface but is uncool and outfoxed at every turn and thus the promotion becomes uncool) begged Ron Killings to help him fight the Twins.

3. James Storm defeated Slash in 6:23 in a match with a ton of interference when he and Harris did the death sentence. Lots of near falls that looked like the finish. Pretty good stuff.

4. E.Z. Money defeated AJ Styles, Kid Kash & Joel Maximo to become the #1 contender for the X Division Title (note: E.Z. Money will be getting his shot in 2 weeks). Amazing Red was supposed to be in the match but A.J. Styles gave him the Styles clash on the ramp so he was out. He was replaced by Joel Maximo. This match was a real disappointment. Some good moves, but no heat and way too many botched spots. All the falls were so quick that it was numbing.

- Joel Maximo pinned Kid Kash with a German suplex in 2:38
Styles pinned Joel Maximo in 1:32 with a reverse sunset flip
- Money pinned Styles with the cha ching (vertical suplex into a power bomb type of move in 1:52
- Money pinned Kash with a cradle after Styles interfered with an enzuigiri in 2:49. Kash did the most botched huracanrana of his career in this one. Kash was eliminated
- Styles pinned Money with the Styles clash in :10
- Joel Maximo pinned Styles with a cool looking cradle in 8:10 Story was Styles was real cocky and not taking it seriously. Finish was a nice surprise but people had already given up on the match
- Money pinned Joel when Styles hit Joel with a chair shot and Money used the E.Z. driver, which is like a thunder fire power bomb in 2:04

Jerry Lynn did an interview. He said in last week's match with Styles he thought he tore his rotator cuff (that's six months out at least) but instead only partially tore his pec and will be back next week against Sonny Siaki. While this was going on, the Harris Twins attacked Bill Behrens, the other NWA rep who represents totally uncool management. They were about to put him through a table when Lynn made the save, but they H-bombed Lynn onto Behrens through a table. Killings came out and brawled for a couple of minutes with the twins until they threw him off a balcony on a heavily gimmicked table.

Main Event was supposed to be Jarrett & Killings, but with Killings injured, Bob Armstrong begged his son Brian to team with Jarrett. You can see this one coming

5. It was supposed to be a bullrope match with Storm, Harris and James Mitchell. Instead it was a shmazz that went on far too long. Mitchell claimed his personal physician, Dr. Jack Kevorkian wouldn't let him wrestle due to double pneumonia and some other disease which if I knew what he said, would probably have been real funny. He instead sent Bella Donna, who desperately needs to wear more flattering shorts. they didn't want to fight her in a bullrope match. Lee & Slash came out and laid out Harris & Storm with cowbell shots. Mitchell came in and hit both guys with cowbells, then sent Bella Donna in again. Harris & Storm recovered and each gave Bella Donna their finishes and finally they did the death sentence (old Demolition finish) on her and Storm pinned her to I guess win in 4:22

B.G. James was shown passed out on the floor. Bob surmised that the Harris Twins must have jumped him. Everyone else watching just assumed he od'd.

Curt Hennig did an interview which was so fictitious it should have been an added chapter in Hollywood Hulk Hogan. He took down WWE champ Brock Lesnar at 35,000 feat. Mike Tenay had to remind him Brock wasn't the champ. He also revolutionized wrestling in 1990. He did say that everyone considered the NWA title to be the real world title. He said he was 35 years old and in the best shape of his life, which is carny for 44 years old and a shell of the shell I formerly was.

6. Jeff Jarrett defeated both Harris Twins in a handicap match. They beat him up for a while, but he kept escaping the H-bomb. Finally he made a comeback. Killings came out all taped up while this was going on to attack Ron so Jeff could pin Don in 5:11 with the stroke. Jarrett did a good job in doing the underdog coming back, but there's just something about Jeff Jarrett playing the Stone Cold role that doesn't fit. Jarrett left. Killings wanted Russo. Harris Twins came out and gave him an H-bomb. Russo came out and he ordered them to do a second H-bomb. B.G. James woke up and ran to the ring and teased hitting Russo with a chair shot. Of course, he hit Killings instead, and poor out of touch Bob and the out of touch NWA were left befuddled.

And then for no reason at all, Paul Bearer showed up as the show went off the air.

MATCHES ANNOUNCED FOR NEXT WEEK:
  • A.J. Styles vs. Amazing Red
  • Jerry Lynn (c) vs. Sonny Siaki - X Division Title
  • Jeff Jarrett (c) vs. Curt Hennig - NWA World Heavyweight Title
