HEAT RECAP

Goldust vs. Steven Richards

Goldust opens the match with some arm drags, and Stevie counters with some chops and a clothesline from behind. He stomps on Goldy’s head for a while and then locks him up in a headlock. The crowd starts a Goldust chant as he breaks the hold, but is kneed in the stomach by Richards. Front facelock by Stevie, reversal by Goldy, who hits what looks like a modified chokeslam/body drop. Goldust hits his Flying Ass for a two count. This leads to a series of Goldy setting up for the Curtain Call, which gets reversed into a setup for a Stevie-T. This exchange happens twice, until Goldy sets up Richards for the Golden Globes. Stevie breaks out, Irish Whip into the ropes, and Goldy hits Stevie with a powerslam for the three-count.

Three Minute Warning vs. Ken Anderson and Andy Sealon

Ken Anderson opens with some chops on Rosie, he goes for a flying burrito but gets caught in the air. Sealon off the top rope and they hit Rosie with a double dropkick. Rosie clears both men out and tags Jamal. Spinning heel kick by Jamal followed by a few kicks and some chops. Superkick by Jamal on Ken Anderson, and a tag to Rosie. Andy Sealon is the legal man for the jobber team. He beats on the rookie for a while and puts him in the dreaded front facelock, where he is raking the eyes. Samoan drop by Rosie for the win. Following the match they slap the rookies around for a bit.

HEAT REVIEW

Goldust vs. Steven Richards

Where is Victoria tonight? How come she isn’t with her man? She was probably getting ready for that intense Chicago Street Fight that went on later that night. Nothing much to note in this match. It was pretty tactically sound, with basic mat moves all night.

Three Minute Warning vs. Ken Anderson and Andy Sealon

Wow that was a boring match. And where was Rico? Is he not their manager anymore? This really shows how weak the tag division on Raw is. Rosie and Jamal were brought in with such hype, and now they are relegated to squashing a couple of indy guys on Heat. I can’t stand Three Minute Warning, their attack is boring, and their moves look really stiff and dangerous.

Raw Highlights

Boy Test is a great actor, he must’ve taken lessons from Dawn Marie, as I thought he was really crying. I love that “Don’t be an Ass Clown” shirt that Jericho wears now, but I don’t really understand those checkered pants. HBK said it best when he asked I don’t know how you can be the man with pants like that. I like this feud they are building between HBK and Jericho. Both men are great performers in the ring, and they are both great on the mic, as I think they cut the best promos in the fed. Shawn is probably one of the best of all time when it comes to cutting promos.

Rico vs. Spike Dudley

What is the deal with Rico? Why even have him play a role in the Billy and Chuck wedding if there was no planned push for him. He could’ve really made a splash after that, but instead he is stuck jobbing to Spike Dudley on Heat. And why is he still coming out to Billy and Chuck’s old music? His character is so insignificant it isn’t even funny.

Shawn O’Haire Promo

This guy is going to be good. I’ve seen a few of his matches from when he was on Heat, and for a big guy, he can really bring it. He may really be the next big thing. And if he cuts a live promo as good as he cuts a taped one, he’ll be awesome, especially if he sticks with that gimmick. But I'm not telling you anything you don't already know

Raw Highlights

What was the point of taking Kane’s mask off again? Didn’t X-Pac do that earlier last year? I’ll have to ask Velocity reviewer Keith Vinciguerra, as he is a huge fan of X-Pac (he even has an X-Pac singlet). I read on Sportshype that the new name for Hunter’s stable is going to be Hunty Hunt and the Funky Bunch. I don’t know how much truth there is to that rumor.

Christian vs. Maven

What is the deal with Christian’s finisher? That has to be one of the stupidest names I’ve heard in a while. The Unprettier? Come on now. Not a bad match. Maven is still green, and he needs a gimmick, and he needs new entrance music, and a new finisher. I really don’t like him that much. The only thing he really did right was not reveal his last name, so he isn’t stuck going by it like other Tough Enough contestants.
