Welcome everyone to the first edition of Sunday Night Heat on the NEW TNN. I wonder how long they are going to claim that this network is new. I'll always remember that it was a country music station before it became a cable channel with great shows like Star Trek The Next Generation and Three's Company. Anyways, on the heels of a great Wrestlemania and a Raw that did nothing for me to follow up that great show, let's see what Heat, the best show in the WWE lineup, has to offer.

HEAT RECAP

Rodney Mack (w/ Teddy Long) vs. Spike Dudley
Teddy Long starts out by talking about having the 411 on how Rodney Mack is all about "thuggin and buggin." He then talks about how Spike Dudley is not a tough guy and that his brothers got him his job. Spike enters and the
match is ready to begin.

Spike starts off by jumping on top of Mack, and begins throwing punches to his head. Spike gets whipped into the ropes and as he's about to get a sidewalk slam from Mack, reverses it into a flying head scissors. Spike charges at Mack, Mack shoulder blocks him and tosses him to the floor. Mack is now on the offensive and in total control. He attempts a powerslam on Spike, but Spike reverses it and goes for a rollup and a two count. Spike with a spear, but Mack picks him up and places him on the top turnbuckle. Spike bites his head and throws him off the ropes. Spike goes for the Acid Drop, but Mack reverses it into a powerslam for the win.

Winner by pinfall: Rodney Mack

RAW Highlights:
Austin is fired by Eric Bischoff because his neck is a pile of trash.

Tommy Dreamer vs. Christian
Collar-elbow tie-up to start the match, and Dreamer turns it into an armbar. Shoulder block by Dreamer, putting Christian to the mat. Christian gets up and slaps Dreamer in the face. Dreamer doesn't take kindly to this and attacks Christian, clotheslining him over the top rope. Christian with a neck breaker and now he's on the offensive. Tommy hits a couple of powerful clotheslines and follows with a monkey flip and a powerslam. Lateral press by Tommy as he goes to the second rope and misses an elbow drop. Christian attempts a Goldust-like Curtain Call, but Dreamer kicks out. Christian goes for the kendo stick, but Tommy hits a tornado DDT. Dreamer goes for the Death Valley Driver, but Christian reverses it and hits the Unprettier for the win.

Winner by pinfall: Christian

HEAT REVIEW

Rodney Mack (w/ Teddy Long) vs. Spike Dudley
Not really a big fan of Rodney Mack, but Teddy Long is a great mouthpiece for anyone, and with the right push, I think he can get anyone over. I kind of dig the fact that Rodney Mack wears a robe into the ring. It makes him look tougher. It's more of a boxer's robe than the flashy robe that Flair use to wear. Ok, what is the point of Spike Dudley, the poor guy is like a human punching bag, jobbing to every up and comer that's out there? Ah, what do I know?

Wrestlemania Highlights
Did you know that Ashanti is the princess of hip-hop and R&B? I bet you didn't.

Raw Highlights
Boy, I'm so excited about there being another Austin vs. management angle. I must say I did enjoy the veiled reference to Bischoff sending Austin's walking papers over Fed-Ex, just like he did when he canned Austin from WCW. And it's a wonder WCW didn't make it with smart business decisions like that.

Tommy Dreamer vs. Christian
Christian is such a great heel. He never really changed his attitude from his E&C days, and still plays the whiny, cocky heel. I think in a few years he'll be a big time star. I'm really disappointed that they let Dreamer book two weeks of Raw and then took him off the creative staff. This guy could really book shows.

Raw Highlights
This is the first time that I've really gotten a laugh out of Goldust's Tourette's syndrome gimmick. That gimmick is really starting to grow on me. And how funny was it when Stacy caught Test on the phone, and he says "Sorry wrong number, never call here again." I thought it was humorous.

Wrestlemania Highlights
I think the hug at the end was a genuine deal between the two after putting on a great match. Probably one of the best matches at Wrestlemania, and the best match HBK has put on since he's come back. I don't know why they had Jericho give Shawn that nutshot at the end. It really made him look weak, and didn't do much to further his character. I thought it would've been the perfect opportunity to turn him face.

Raw Highlights
The Booker T - HBK vs. Hunter - Jericho match at Raw this week is going to be the perfect opportunity to bring back Keith's hero, Kevin Nash.

Wrestlemania Highlights
There were a lot of people there.

Raw Highlights
I think once Goldberg and the Rock end their feud, he and Steiner should have a feud, culminating in a 60 minute iron man match to see who can hurt the other guy first.

Trish vs. Ivory (Women's Title Match)
This was actually a solid match. Fit Finlay is doing wonders for these girls. It's like everytime there is a women's match, it's Fit's showcase. It's good to see Ivory back on TV too, she's looking really good these days, and I love those pants she had on, as they showed a nice piece of her thigh. I prefer the low rise pants that show off the top of her ass though.

All in all Heat was a pretty decent show tonight. I didn't have any real complaints, as all of the matches were pretty solid. I hope you all enjoy Raw tomorrow night, I for one will not be watching it live, but taping it. Instead I'll be watching my Syracuse Orangemen take on the Kansas Jayhawks for the national title. LET'S GO CUSE!!!!!!!
