AWF “The “May”n Event”
Fri 2 May, 2008
Fairy Meadow Fraternity Club
Fairy Meadow, NSW, Australia
Attendance: 100
Results: Massive Q b Nick Ferno, Toxin & Zander Bathory b Max Comic & Rob The Scientist, Bluey Bonza b Chris X, YLC: Jay Law b Spaceboy Dacey, 3 Way: Il Cognito b Billy Flyswat & JT Robinson, Tag Titles: Surf Club b TNT & Powerhouse Theo
Notes:
- Small but vocal crowd enjoyed the show thoroughly.
- Max Comic was busted open in the final of his tag bout, when Toxin sneakily smashed him in the head with Black Venum’s chain for the win. The result was stitches to the head for comic.
- Newcomer “Spaceboy” Dacey put up a valiant effort in the Young Lion’s bout against Jay Law, but it wasn’t enough as Law made him tap out.
- Il Cognito kept himself in AWF Title contention winning the big three way bout.
- In the main event Swat Team X interjected themselves when Surf Club where setting up for the Wipeout, stopping the move. In ring TNT went to spear Club but missed and caught Bodacious Bo and they flew outside the ring. Hoffman then hit a stunner and Club a german suplex for the win. After the pin the Detonation Crew beat down Surf Club momentarily stealing the Tag belts, until a chair wielding Bluey Bonza made the save. Words were had by both teams afterwoods saying this isn’t finished.
- AWF returns to Fairy Meadow on 4 July with Independence Day!
Australasian Wrestling Federation
AWF “May”nia!
Sat 3 May, 2008
Blacktown RSL
Blacktown, NSW
Attendance: 250
Results:
Kid Dynamite b “Spaceboy” Dacey, Powerhouse Theo b JT Robinson, Il Cognito b Bluey Bonza, AWF Tag Titles: Swat Team X (Chris X & Billy Flyswat) b Surf Club (Adam Hoffman & Scotty Club) to win Tag Titles, AWF Young Lion’s Championship: Jay Law DCO Massive Q, Steve Ravenous b Max Comic, AWF Australasian Title: Mark Hilton b TNT DQ
Notes:
- Detonation Crew opened the show with TNT talking about Hilton seeming coming to join at Penrith, him injuring shoulder Vs Raven thus couldn’t kick out, and going to New Zealand and winning AWF Title back from Raven. Swat Team X said they would win Tag Titles, and Theo said he would avenge Players interference which cost him Young Lion’s Belt. TNT then said it was time for new Detonation Crew member Mark Hilton. Hilton came out and turned the Crew down and started his own group called “Southern Cross” which would be comprised of him, Bluey Bonza and Surf Club. With both teams in ring Hilton added that he would be cashing in his Title shot from Australia’s Cup win, and would face TNT for the AWF Championship later in the show. Detonation Crew was all bent out of shape!
- All Freakshow members interfered in the Il Cognito Vs Bluey Bonza bout, with Q finally being too much blasting Bluey leading to the Cognito victory.
- Swat Team X became new tag team champions when Theo & TNT seemingly had Bo in a compromising position on the floor and Surf Club were distracted. Hoffman lept to the floor to Bo’s aid who escaped under the ring. Bo came out the other side and took her leg brace off and passed it to Chris X who blasted Club, and Swat Team X nailed Scotty with the double fishermans bomb to get the title win. After the bout Detonation Crew celebrated with Bo joining the group and leaving Surf Club to the shock of many.
- Jay Law and Massive Q were both counted out when Bluey Bonza entered ringside with Donuts and the two were distracted. Bonza then stated he would win Young Lion’s belt from Law at AWF Dojo on 17 May.
- TNT retained against Hilton when Hilton seemingly had bout won after a springboard frogsplash, but Theo made the save and whole crew started to beat Hilton. This lead to Surf Club and Bonza coming out and fighting with Crew, then The Freakshow and The Platinum Players also entered and complete pandemonium broke loose! After wild action things settled a little with Hilton, Il Cognito, Ravenous and TNT in the ring. Hilton said he was ripped off and should be champ, but then added lets settle this by having a four way with all factions head members represented at the next event, with the winner taking the AWF Title. TNT accepted as did other teams and the bout will take place one fall winner at Championship Climax on 5 July at Blacktown RSL.
- Lots of angles and story development throughout and the show and happy fans afterwood.
- AWF returns to Blacktown RSL on Sat 5 July with Championship Climax
