GEORGIA WRESTLING NEWS, NOTES, AND NOSTALGIA: 05/22/2008

NEWS

The second incarnation of the Southside Trash, Rowdy and Big Daddy, reached an amicable decision today to part ways. Rowdy, whose real name is Randy Harris, and the only original member of SST, has been teaming with Raunchy, also known as ‘Hot Property’ Drew Golden in its third lineup. The Independent Wrestling Network is owned by Dwayne Bell, who wrestled as Big Daddy until injuries forced him from active in ring action. Both Harris and Golden had been booking for the IWN, which runs weekly events in Columbus, GA. Harris and Golden resigned from that position effective today over what Harris called “backstage drama. Some guys were complaining that the IWN was the Southside Trash show, but I never booked it that way.” In a response from Bell, he confirmed the split was amicable and is a business decision. Bell will take over booking duties for IWN, while Harris and Golden will continue to not only wrestle for the new Prime Time Pro Wrestling promotion out of Manchester, GA, but also continue to book for PTPW. “We are not leaving the IWN for Prime Time”, said Harris. “We already had the book in both places. Dwayne and I are still good friends, but this decision is best for business.” (Rich Tate)
