FULL RESULTS FROM NWA Upstate's CONTINUING THE TRADITION '08!
Full Results from NWA Upstate's Continuing the Tradition '08 at the Main Street Armory in Rochester, New York:
Preshow Match
Dewberg (Dewey) defeated Upstate Phantom #5 w/ "Superbad" Richard Venice
Main Show
2CW's Killer Steves (Steve McKenzie & "Mr. One Night Stand" Steve Kruz) issued an open challenge to any Upstate team. Triple X & Super Assassin accepted the challenge and defeated the Killer Steves.
NWA Upstate Tag Team Champions Rhythm & Booze (Buddy Delmar & Frank the Tank) & "The Montgomery Madman" Sweet Lou defeated The Latin Soldiers (Maximo Suave & Luis Whiteshoes) & Marc Krieger
CloudLee (Brodie Lee & Cloudy) defeated The McCloud Brothers (Evan & Kyle)
In a highly anticipated re-match, "Fabulous" John McChesney defeated "The Havana Pitbull" Ricky Reyes (w/Starrider), evening their series in Upstate at one win each. Needless to say we haven't seen the last of this feud.
Former Upstate owner Hellcat passed the torch so to speak giving control to the new owner Chip Stetson. Hellcat then offered to be Upstate's 5th man in the War Games main event. Chip thanked Hellcat but declined saying that he already signed Jimmy Olsen to the be the 5th member of Team Upstate. (Jimmy was originally set to face Big Cat Lemmer, but unfortunatly BCL suffered a broken foot the week before and couldn't compete).
Cheech defeated Platinum (w/Starrider) and Rip Impact in a very good and competitive three-way match, pinning Platinum.
The debuting "Omega" Aaron Draven (w/Starrider) defeated the debuting "Wonderboy" Zac Atticus
NWA Upstate Heavyweight Champion "Dastardly" Danny Doring defeated TNA Wrestling's "Showtime" Eric Young to successfully retain the title.
Team 2CW defeated Team Upstate in a WarGames cage match, when former NWA owner Hellcat turned on Upstate and joined 2CW. It seemed Jimmy had the match won but then Hellcat hit the ring seemingly trying to revive the ref to make the 3 count. Hellcat then took his shirt off to reveal a 2CW shirt underneath. He then hit a DDT on Olsen and laid Isys Ephex on top of him for the win. After the match there was quite a scene as Jimmy Olsen suffered an injury at some time during the match and EMT's were called to the Armory. We hope to have more word on his condition soon.
NWA Upstate will return to action in just a few weeks on July 11th at the Monroe County Fairgrounds (7:30pm belltime). And of course the 2nd annual Indytational Tournament on Sept. 27th at the Minett Hall. Already announced for September - TNA Star SONJAY DUTT!
