Featuring:
Benjamin Boone vs. King Kong Bundy
King Kong Bundy. The “Master of the 5-Count”. “The Walking Condominium”. The mere mention of his name re-ignites memories of some of the most impactful moments in professional wrestling. From his early days in Dallas to an international megastar in the World Wrestling Federation, Bundy has defeated almost all who have opposed him, striking fear and intimidation throughout the world. Bundy’s impact was perhaps best felt as one of the true pioneers of the most recognized professional wrestling event of all time… WrestleMania.
At WrestleMania I at world-famous Madison Square Garden, Bundy annihilated Special Delivery Jones, setting a record for shortest match in WrestleMania history, a record that would not be broken for 23 years. In the main event of WrestleMania II, Bundy entered an ominous Steel Cage to oppose World Champion Hulk Hogan just weeks after brutally injuring the champion’s ribs. And at WrestleMania III, before 93,173 screaming fans, Bundy shocked the world by bodyslamming and elbowdropping a midget. No one has been safe from Bundy’s wrath, and he is determined to terrorize to this day. However, despite the legacy, the danger, and the reputation, one man dared to awake the sleeping giant.
Benjamin Boone, a 22-year-old rookie. Thrust into the most competitive talent roster in the area immediately upon his debut, young Benjamin could not possibly have prepared himself for what was to come. After being dominated by the most dominant, and embarrassed by the most egotistical, Boone could feel his career not progressing as he had hoped. Gone were the days of the innocent dreamer, Boone realized it was now time to stand up, for better or for worse, and let his voice be heard. Boone learned that breaks and opportunities are not handed out… you must discover and earn them yourself.
On Sunday, August 3, at the Plain Dealer Pavilion, Boone has the opportunity to take a major leap forward in the progression of his young career. It is the opportunity to prove he will not be remembered for what he has been, but for what he is about to become.
On August 3, Benjamin Boone takes a major step to professional and personal maturity. Or he will become the latest of thousands of victims, squashed and discarded by a true wrestling legend. Boone’s destiny may be decided in just five seconds.
