Australasian Wrestling Federation
Newcastle Knock Out
Fri 11 July, 2008
Kings Theatre
Newcastle, NSW
Attendance: 100

Results:

Toxin b Chris X, Billy Flyswat b Zander Bathory, Young Lion’s Championship: Jay Law b Dr Waxhead, Alison Wonderland & Massive Q b Bombshell Bo & Max Comic, Steve Ravenous b Bluey Bonza, Tag Titles: Swat Team X b Black Venum, Australasian Championship: Il Cognito b Powerhouse Theo

Notes:

- Freakshow opened the event celebrating for Il Cognito’s title victory over TNT from the weekend before. Powerhouse Theo interrupted the celebration and said he would be cashing in his title shot gained by winning Supa Tournament Sydney and would bring AWF Title back to the Detonation Crew.

- The first two matches broke down as each teams partner interfered in the respective bouts. Bathory causing X defeat, and Chris X causing Bathory the loss. After the second bout both teams squabbled and set a Tag Title bout for later that night.

- Dr Waxhead came close in front of his hometown crowd in dethroning Jay Law for his Young Lion’s belt, but Law was just victorious again over Southern Cross members.

- In the mixed tag bout, after Massive Q was announced as Wonderlands partner, Max Comic, who upset Q the weekend before at Fairy Meadow after a TNT belt shot, was announced as Bo’s partner. Comic came to the ring dressed as TNT and was a crazy man! Freakshow members got the sneaky win in the end.

- Steve Ravenous returned to strong form downing Bluey Bonza. After the bout Ravenous said he would take back AWF Title at Central Coast the next night against either Cognito or Theo.

- Swat Team X on way to victory, injured Zander Bathory, and he will miss next days event.

- Il Cognito defeated Powerhouse Theo in his first Australasina Title defence.

- Crowd was small but very vocal, and the Kings Theatre has a great vibe for pro-wrestling. Be sure to tell Newcastle fans to attend when the next show is on so AWF can continue to come to the area.

Australasian Wrestling Federation
Central Coast Slamfest
Sat 12 July, 2008
Central Coast Youth Club
Niagara Park, NSW
Attendance: 100

Results:

Dr Waxhead b Kid Dynamite, TNT b Max Comic, 3 Way: JT Robinson b Bluey Bonza & Powerhouse Theo, Young Lion’s Championship: Jay Law b Scotty Club, Mixed 6 person: Alison Wonderland, Massive Q & Toxin b Bombshell Bo & Swat Team X, Australasian Championship: Il Cognito b Steve Ravenous

Notes:

- Freakshow opened the event still celebrating Il Cognito’s title victory over TNT from the weekend before, and for downing Powerhouse Theo the previous night. Steve Ravenous interrupted and challenged Cognito to a street fight and said he would be taking the title back for the Platinum Players.

- TNT was all riled up against Max Comic, and had a fun match, shaking Comic’s hand after the bout. TNT then cheekily tripped Comic in and out of the ring and finally into the entrance set up on the way to the dressing room to the fans amusement.

- JT Robinson continued his winning ways as he won the 3 way bout pinning Bluey Bonza. JT is in line for a title shot upcoming on the heels of his Supa Tournamnet Perth victory.

- Jay Law narrowly escaped loss over Southern Cross’s Scotty Club, with Law using the belt to score victory.

- Detonation Crew overcame The Freakshow in the 6 person bout, when Q inadvertently gave Wonderland the roadkill splash in the corner leading to a Bo spinebuster for the win. TNT & Theo came out after the bout to join Det Crew team members, and TNT announced that because of Loser Leaves stipulation from last weekends Blacktown bout, this was Bombshell Bo’s last contracted appearance for some time. He said Bo would go to Canada & USA to do AWF proud, and when she comes back she will be stronger than ever. TNT & the crowd thanked Bo and wished her well.

- Il Cognito retained the AWF Title in his second defence in a wild bout that started with Cognito attacking Ravenous before the bell, with the two fighting across the stadium. Once action returned to the ring a back and forth battle unraveled, with Ravenous scoring a near fall with a top rope exploder suplex, and Cognito a tope rope sunset flip into a powerbomb. In the end Cognito scored with his springboard legdrop for the win to close out the event.

- A well received event with many happy faces afterwoods. Great crowd interaction and participation throughout the night.
