FIRST EVER PWO TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
THREE-WAY LADDER MATCH
Matthew Justice & Morty Rackem vs. Jake Crist & Vincent Nothing vs. Virus & Virus Grande
This Sunday afternoon, August 3, six men will take each other to their limit and beyond., all for the prestige and honor of becoming the very first ever PWO Tag Team Champions. Since Pro Wrestling Ohio’s inception in October, PWO’s tag team division has been the location of some of the most memorable and personal encounters in company history. However on Sunday, everything will be surpassed as three deserving teams look to solidify their reputations permanently.
Virus & Virus Grande, collectively known as V-Squared. This infectious duo made their presence known in the very first ever PWO match, defeating The Cut Throat Crew. Not satisfied with simply a victory, V2 got personal, orchestrating an attack outside the realm of PWO, an incident still shrouded in mystery and uncertainty. The assault led to the departure of Rufio Rapier from professional wrestling, and the disbanding of arguably V2’s most formidable tag team rivals. The Viruses also masterminded the theft of “Bloody” Morty Rackem’s heirloom swords, spending months disrespecting and desecrating the pirate lifestyle that Rackem leads. Following Rackem’s regaining of the swords, V2 are back at the top of the tag team scene, prepared to avenge their loss in PWO’s historic first-ever Ladder Match this past spring. Can the villainous Viruses avenge their loss by attaining tag team gold?
“Bloody” Morty Rackem & Matthew Justice. An alliance formed by necessity has gelled into a cohesive and solidified unit. Morty Rackem’s search for a new tag partner led the swashbuckling superstar to find a man with the same fire, the same intensity, the same wreckless abandon that the most feared crusaders of the high seas possessed in their day. That search led him to Matthew Justice, a risk taker, a daredevil, a man who will risk his well-being for his career, his beliefs, and his fans. Although they may seem to be an odd couple on the surface, their collective state of mind led them to victory in PWO’s one and only Ladder Match. Will the swashbuckling superstar and his devil-may-care partner two-peat as Ladder Match victors and emerge as champions?
Vincent Nothing & Jake Crist. Two tag team specialists, yet unproven entities with each other. Both have had overwhelming success in tag team wars - Jake with brother Dave Crist as part of Irish Airborne, Nothing along with Christian Faith as part of Faith in Nothing - yet have never teamed together in PWO. For Vincent Nothing, it is about pride and about his legacy. An intense and resilient all-around athlete, Nothing helped innovate and escalate the art of the Ladder Match after a memorable ladder encounter on Sports Time Ohio last year. After taking full credit for that classic match, and condemning PWO fans for claiming Rackem & Justice and V-Squared had surpassed his own accomplishments, Nothing issued a challenge for a Ladder Match at Wrestlelution. However, an unexpected old rival provided a detour on Nothing’s road to the Plain Dealer Pavilion. An impromptu battle with Jake Crist re-kindled past mutual respect, and the newly-formed team of Irish Nothing set out to prove they were still the undisputed kings of Cleveland Ladder Matches.
This Sunday night, these three entities collide to determine the true perfectors of the Ladder Match. Who truly has set the bar higher in Ladder Matches? Who is willing to climb faster, fly higher, and crash harder to capture ultimate bragging rights and PWO championship gold? It will be the ultimate high-flying, death-defying, high-octane, adrenaline-fueled spectacle as six warriors risk life and limb to prove to each other, and themselves, that they are truly the best in their craft. However, only one man’s ascension can be paved in gold, the others will be met with disappointment and pain. This Sunday, the bar will be raised again for Ladder Matches in Cleveland. But who is willing to raise it the highest?
