Power Trip Wrestling - 6th August 2008 - Isle of Sheppey, Kent - Attendance 350

Peter Staniforth came out to start the show, with 'Seaside' Kevin Carter. Peter wasn't his usual jovial self, and when the crowd kept chanting 'seaside' in support of Kevin, his infamous temper just snapped. Kevin was knocked out by a shot to the head from Peter's steel Clipboard of Doom, and Peter took the
microphone and told the crowd he was sick of being cheered, sick of all the
children asking him to sign things, refused to be a role model to children with "lazy parents who should do it themselves"; and said that they could all go to hell. Pointing out that he is from "a town with an international airport, and a town that has a football team so good that the Football League had to deduct 30 points from us this season so that everyone else has a fair chance,,,,I'm from Luton, and god only knows it's better than being here!".

Marcus Phayer came out, and got very angry with Peter, stating that the fans deserve more respect than that, and Peter told him that if he wanted to interrupt him, then he'd have to face an opponent of Peter's choice before he could wrestle in the tag team match that he was already scheduled to be in. Peter called out Tommy Stevens to the ring, and the match began.

* 'The Hardcore Alcoholic' Tommy Stevens defeated Marcus Phayer, after interference from Peter Staniforth, and the Storming Italians (Mason Storm, & Gino Perri). After the match, Tommy Stevens looked to the camera, and made a slightly controversial statement in the direction of a small wrestling promotion based in Milton Keynes, that PTW management wish to state was his beliefs and unapproved by PTW itself (despite our agreement with his sentiments, we have no wish to voice them publicly ourselves); and then went off to look for a pint of cider! Phayer was left in no condition to continue on to the tag team match he was originally meant to wrestle in, leaving a huge question mark as to who his replacement would be.

* The once again very popular Aphrodite, defeated MTX Jem Brown, to much approval from the crowd. Aphrodite has now not lost so far on PTW's Summer Tour.

* Del Rico defeated Dragonian.

* Leapfrog defeated Captain T.N.T.

* In 'The Battle Of The Feathers', Dan Edge defeated Glamour, after interference from 'Scorpion' Bill Duffy.

* 'Cowboy' Adam Hayes & Kevin Carter defeated The Storming Italians (Mason Storm & Gino Perri).

* PTW Cruiserweight Title Match - 'Scorpion' Bill Duffy w/Peter Staniforth defeated G The Ghetto Superstar, to become the NEW PTW Cruiserweight Champion. Before the match, upon his entrance to the ring, G took Peter Staniforth's children Andrew & Victoria into the ring to dance with him; Staniforth came out and went ballistic, screaming at G that he'd gone too far and to his children to 'get the hell out of that ring right now'. The crowd disapproved, considering Peter a spoilsport; and made it clear that they wanted to see G put the arrogant pair in their places.

A back and forth match up, saw Duffy take the victory via submission, with a concealed chain that the referee could not see; used to choke G out. After, as the new champion and Peter celebrated, Peter's sister in law came from the crowd and into the ring, and verbally made her point about his behaviour that evening. Peter replied 'I don't have to talk to you, hell, I don't even have to look at you', and turned his back to her. A big mistake, as his arms were grabbed by wrestlers, and his sister in law pulled his trousers down to his ankles in the centre of the ring!!!

Peter was furious, and despite pulling his trousers up before getting out the ring, as he jumped down to the floor, they fell down once more; and he ran to and out the fire exits with his jeans around his ankles, thoroughly embarrassed and very angry; as the fans and wrestlers celebrated and laughed.

So, in true Power Trip Wrestling tradition, even in a situation where the bad guys had prevailed; the show ended on a fun note and a good atmosphere. We'll see you next week as the PTW Summer Tour continues into it's fourth successful week of residency at the Isle of Sheppey Holiday Village, Kent! UPCOMING AWF LIVE EVENTS

AWF WRESTLING

"CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING @ THE CUBE"

SAT 30 AUGUST, 2008

CAMPBELLTOWN, NSW

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) makes its long awaited return to the Campbelltown area on Sat 30 August, making its debut at the new state of the art Campbelltown Convention & Entertainment Complex venue "The Cube", to present a massive evening of live sports entertainment entitled "AWF Championship Wrestling at The Cube".

The event itself will showcase the best AWF has to offer in a variety of special feature bouts, making the night a massive 6 bout super card that will offer over 2 hours of live pro-wrestling action suitable for the family.

The main event for the evening will feature new AWF Australasian Champion and "Ringmaster of The Freakshow" Il Cognito, accompanied by burlesque dancer extraordinaire, Alison Wonderland, taking on local bad boy and number 1 contender "Platinum Player" JT Robinson.

The AWF Title bout will take place under special Campbelltown Street Fight rules, meaning anything will go, and there must be a winner.

Il Cognito & JT Robinson are two of the longest standing members of the AWF roster with over a decade of experience each, and due to their experience, each know every dirty trick in the book!

JT Robinson has been in form winning the 2 day Supa-Tournament in Perth to receive his title shot, and following up recently defeating Bluey Bonza and Powerhouse Theo in 3 way action at Niagara Park. All of JT's victories have resulted from sneaky underhanded methods, so the street fight in his hometown could definitely play to his advantage and aid him in his quest of winning the Australasian Title that he has longed to win for over a decade.

Il Cognito has also unquestionably been at the top of his game in 2008, and is now also on top of the pile in the AWF as Australasian Champion after pinning TNT on 6 July in a Championship Climax four way bout at Blacktown RSL.

Il Cognito has faired well in early title defences against Powerhouse Theo and JT's "Platinum Players" cohort Steve Ravenous, using his sneaky carny tactics to gain advantage and victory, keeping the title at any cost.

When these two opposing personalities meet at The Cube on 30 August it will no doubt be one of the wildest AWF Title bouts ever!

In another highly anticipated main event, bad blood will explode as the man mountain that is Blakstone will collide with the "Detonation Crew's" TNT in a massive Grudge Match that has been brewing over the last few months.

On 25 May, TNT, fed up and disgusted with the tactics of other local wrestling promotions attacked Blakestone at a Nightmare Wrestling event and challenged him to come to AWF. TNT was chased off by the Nightmare wrestlers and things were far from settled.

On 6 July at Blacktown RSL, in the climax of TNT's 4 way title bout, Blakestone accompanied by Mark Williamson came to the ring and interfered, with Blakestone launching a chair at TNT's head while he was prone on the top turnbuckle, causing TNT to crash to the canvas and be springboard legdropped and pinned by Il Cognito, therefore costsing TNT his Australasian Championship. An enraged TNT charged Blakstone, and soon TNT's Detonation Crew partners were also on the scene, causing Blakestone and Williamson to flee, however their mission was accomplished; costing TNT the title.

The intensity will be on extra high as both men will collide in this heated rivalry between two of the most talked about men in Australian wrestling.

TNT will be looking for revenge for losing his AWF Title and will be defending the pride of the AWF. Blakestone will be invading and trying to make a name for Nightmare and himself by defeating TNT.

This will be a battle for the ages no doubt!

Elsewhere on the card Young Lion's Under 25's Champion Jay Law will face main rival of the past 6 months, "Southern Cross" member Bluey Bonza.

Law has been impressive defeating all comers in Young Lion's action, even racking up recent victories over Bluey's "Southern Cross" team mates Adam Hoffman and Scotty Club.

At Blacktown on 6 July Law and Bonza met in a No disqualification bout stemming from Bluey's previous win over Law by count out. Law took advantage of the rules however in the No DQ bout, calling on the services of the Platinum Players who attacked and cuffed Bonza causing him the loss.

Due to the dubious circumstances of the loss, the AWF awarded Bonza a final rematch for the Young Lion's Title at The Cube. This is certainly a make or break bout in the career of Bluey Bonza.

In other exciting bouts, tag team action will see "Platinum Players" Steve Ravenous & Kid Dynamite clash with "Detonation Crew" team mates Powerhouse Theo & Chris X. Massive Q of "The Freakshow" will face popular local "Southern Cross" star, Scotty Club, and in more exciting Young Lion's action the cheeky Max Comic will face the high flying "Dr Waxhead" Adam Hoffman.

"AWF Championship Wrestling at The Cube" is sure to be great evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation.

As a very special bonus, for those adults who pre-purchase tickets before the day of the event, there will be a further $5 discount on the already bargain tickets, making adult admission only $10. This special deal is available by booking through the Cube website at www.thecube.net.au .

We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as AWF events are often turn away sell outs.

AWF WRESTLING

"FREAKSHOW UNLEASHED!"

@ FAIRY MEADOW FRATERNITY CLUB

FRI 5 SEPTEMBER, 2008

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) returns to Fairy Meadow Fraternity Club on Friday 5 September to present a huge evening of pro-wrestling action, entitled "Freakshow Unleased".

The event itself will encapsulate a special wrestling carnival like feel and will showcase a variety of special feature bouts, making the night a massive 6 bout super card that will offer over 2 hours of live action suitable for the family. Members of "The Freakshow" faction will be appearing throughout the show, celebrating the recent Australasian Championship victory of Il Cognito, no doubt giving the event a chaotic dark carnival like atmosphere.

The main event for the evening will feature a special Champion versus Champion singles bout that will pit Young Lion's under 25's Champion Jay Law against recently crowned Australasian Champion "Ringmaster of The Freakshow" Il Cognito.

Cognito says he will be unleashing his phychotic clown like personality against the AWF's resident law enforcer, Jay Law, and it will mark the downful of justice in the AWF, and him retaining the AWF Championship.

Law says he is looking forward to giving the freak some hard time, and adding the most prestigeous open weight title to his collection, making him the first ever dual champion in AWF history.

This bout promises to be a wild anything goes encounter with the balance of power in the AWF at stake.

In another huge bout, "The Freakshow's" tag team championship hopes will be at an all time high, when Black Venum challenge Swat Team X for the tag titles.

Swat Team X have been a successful unit since downing Surf Club on 3 May, however have recently lost the services of team valet "Bombshell Bo", due to Alison Wonderland defeating her at Blacktown on 6 July. This factor may turn out to be the difference, as Wonderland's distractions and interference have already proved successful, and combined with Bathory and Toxin's seamy tactics may be too much for the by the rules champions. Swat Team X will have to be at the top of their game to survive this environment.

Elsewhere on the card there will be another big time tag team bout pitting "Platinum Players" JT Robinson & Steve Ravenous against "Detonation Crew" TNT & Powerhouse Theo. No nonsense competitor Kyle Seminoff will return to AWF action to face Robert "The Scientist" Best & "Raging" Nick Ferno in 3 way action. "Aussie Battler" Bluey Bonza will face Kid Dynamite in Young Lion's action, and the riled up Jason "The Destroyer" Dacey, will battle the "Largest Sideshow in the World" Massive Q to round out the festivities.

"Freakshow Unleashed" is sure to be an entertaining evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation at Fairy Meadow Fraternity Club.

We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as AWF events are often turn away sell outs.

Notes:

- Detonation Crew opened the show with TNT talking about facing Hilton last Blacktown show, and finishing him off tonight along with the other participants in the four way. TNT claimed Detonation Crew would dominate the show. Hilton came out and said he would win AWF Title, followed by Steve Ravenous & Il Cognito, setting the stage for the main event.

- Platinum Players assisted Jay Law once again, helping to brutalise Bluey Bonza in the No DQ bout leading to Bonza being cuffed & pinned. Max Comic was also a part of the beating as he was invited by JT Robinson to join in. After the beating continued Club & Hoffman charged the ring and saved their Southern Cross partner. The team challenged Robinson & Comic for later in the card.

- At the conclusion of the 6 man with Q squashing Flyswat and Alison Wonderland getting to Bombshell Bo once again, Bo stated that she would get rid of Alison. Wonderland challenged her to a loser leaves town, and Bo reluctantly accepted.

- All factions were banned from ringside for the Australasian Title 4 way. TNT & Hilton started the bout heated with TNT almost knocked out early. After many big sequences including a tower suplex topped with a Hilton frogsplash for a near fall, dives and an array of near falls, Hilton & Ravenous ended outside the ring after a hedscissor, and TNT hit a reverse piledriver on Il Cognito setting up for his Crazyjack. With TNT perched on the top rope, Blakestone with Mark Williamson, from the new local Nightmare promotion, threw a chair at TNT's head, smashing him hard, causing him to backflip into the ring and be hit with a springboard legdrop from Il Cognito for the title change. When TNT realised what had happened he charged Blakestone & "The Detonation Crew" joined him and chased the Nightmare team from the building.

- Il Cognito & "The Freakshow" members celebrated in the ring after the title win with cognito proclaiming that the Freaks have been unleashed.

Notes:

- Freakshow opened the event celebrating for Il Cognito's title victory over TNT from the weekend before. Powerhouse Theo interrupted the celebration and said he would be cashing in his title shot gained by winning Supa Tournament Sydney and would bring AWF Title back to the Detonation Crew.

- The first two matches broke down as each teams partner interfered in the respective bouts. Bathory causing X defeat, and Chris X causing Bathory the loss. After the second bout both teams squabbled and set a Tag Title bout for later that night.

- Dr Waxhead came close in front of his hometown crowd in dethroning Jay Law for his Young Lion's belt, but Law was just victorious again over Southern Cross members.

- In the mixed tag bout, after Massive Q was announced as Wonderlands partner, Max Comic, who upset Q the weekend before at Fairy Meadow after a TNT belt shot, was announced as Bo's partner. Comic came to the ring dressed as TNT and was a crazy man! Freakshow members got the sneaky win in the end.

- Steve Ravenous returned to strong form downing Bluey Bonza. After the bout Ravenous said he would take back AWF Title at Central Coast the next night against either Cognito or Theo.

- Swat Team X on way to victory, injured Zander Bathory, and he will miss next days event.

- Il Cognito defeated Powerhouse Theo in his first Australasina Title defence.

- Crowd was small but very vocal, and the Kings Theatre has a great vibe for pro-wrestling. Be sure to tell Newcastle fans to attend when the next show is on so AWF can continue to come to the area.

Notes:

- Freakshow opened the event still celebrating Il Cognito's title victory over TNT from the weekend before, and for downing Powerhouse Theo the previous night. Steve Ravenous interrupted and challenged Cognito to a street fight and said he would be taking the title back for the Platinum Players.

- TNT was all riled up against Max Comic, and had a fun match, shaking Comic's hand after the bout. TNT then cheekily tripped Comic in and out of the ring and finally into the entrance set up on the way to the dressing room to the fans amusement.

- JT Robinson continued his winning ways as he won the 3 way bout pinning Bluey Bonza. JT is in line for a title shot upcoming on the heels of his Supa Tournamnet Perth victory.

- Jay Law narrowly escaped loss over Southern Cross's Scotty Club, with Law using the belt to score victory.

- Detonation Crew overcame The Freakshow in the 6 person bout, when Q inadvertently gave Wonderland the roadkill splash in the corner leading to a Bo spinebuster for the win. TNT & Theo came out after the bout to join Det Crew team members, and TNT announced that because of Loser Leaves stipulation from last weekends Blacktown bout, this was Bombshell Bo's last contracted appearance for some time. He said Bo would go to Canada & USA to do AWF proud, and when she comes back she will be stronger than ever. TNT & the crowd thanked Bo and wished her well.

- Il Cognito retained the AWF Title in his second defence in a wild bout that started with Cognito attacking Ravenous before the bell, with the two fighting across the stadium. Once action returned to the ring a back and forth battle unraveled, with Ravenous scoring a near fall with a top rope exploder suplex, and Cognito a tope rope sunset flip into a powerbomb. In the end Cognito scored with his springboard legdrop for the win to close out the event.

- A well received event with many happy faces afterwoods. Great crowd interaction and participation throughout the night.

AWF NEWSWIRE AUGUST, 2008

- July was a super eventful month with many major happenings taking place.

- In the biggest piece of news, on 6 July at Blacktown RSL at Championship Climax, Il Cognito defeated TNT, Steve Ravenous & Mark Hilton to become new AWF Australasian Champion! The fall came after 20 minutes when TNT was setting up for his top rope crazyjack twisting elbow, when outsider Blakestone interfered throwing a chair at TNT's head, sending him flipping into the ring. Il Cognito capitalized with a second rope springboard legdrop and scored his 3rd AWF Title reign. With Il Cognito as new AWF Australasian Champion this has switched the main balance of power in AWF to "The Freakshow". Things are set to get crazy. In initial title

- "Platinum Player" JT Robinson will cash in his AWF Title shot for winning Supa Tournament Perth, as he is set to face Il Cognito in a Campbelltown Street Fight anything goes bout at the Cube on 30 August.

- Jay Law will face the winner of the 30 August Championship bout at Fairy Meadow the week after on 5 September, after petitioning for an Australasian Championship bout for some time based on his win loss record.

- The fallout of July's Championship Climax also saw many other major happenings. In huge news Mark Hilton has decided to step away from the wrestling ring for the meantime to pursue his Mixed Martial Arts career. Hilton is a black belt in many martial arts and has been preparing to do more MMA for some time. To give himself the focus he needs, Mark will dedicate all his energy to MMA to give him the best possible chance for success. The top AWF fan favourite sent his appreciation to the fans for all their support and says they may see him again at AWF shows in the future. AWF management and wrestlers thank Mark for his massive contribution to AWF, and wish him the best in his MMA pursuits. We will be there to support him all the way! Good luck champ.

- TNT was named wrestler of the January to July Season, with him remaining AWF Australasian Champion throughout most of the period. TNT's only singles blemish saw him losing the Australasian Championship to Raven in Penrith on 11 April, in which he bounced back to win the title back a week later in New Zealand in the rematch on 18 April. Runners up were Mark Hilton, Raven & Powerhouse Theo. Young Lion of the season went to Jay Law, Tag Team to Surf Club, Future prospect Bluey Bonza, and match of the season TNT Vs Taku Iwasa Blacktown 1 March.

- AWF will be enstating a new Commonwealth Championship, to be presented to the winner of the 2 day tournament to take place in New Zealand on 3& 4 October. The title will be initially defended mainly in New Zealand. The design for the championship belt has been created to reflect the history of the old title, plus to incorporate the modern look today's championship belts. Major participants already named for the tournament include TNT, AJ Freely, D-Hoya, Roger Ventura and Jay Law. Full 16 name field will be named next month.

- Enraged by losing the AWF Australasian Title, TNT made a rare appearance at an outside wrestling promotion, as he challenged and defeated Blakestone on July 11 in Marrickville, NSW for Nightmare Wrestling. An aggressive TNT downed the larger Blakestone on enemy turf, and then wrestlers from Nightmare attacked Blakestone after the bout. TNT Vs Blakestone 2 has been signed for the AWF ring as part of the huge August 30 Cube Campbelltown event.

- Championship Climax also saw Bombshell Bo dismissed from AWF by rival Alison Wonderland. Bo finished up her commitments on 12 July teaming with Swat Team X, finally getting her win over Alison Wonderland, who teamed with Massive Q & Toxin. After the bout TNT & Powerhouse Theo joined their other Detonation Crew members and publicly sent off Bo wishing her well. Bo will now go overseas for some time to gain more experience and will possibly return after her AWF suspension period is over.

- The new semester of the AWF School of Pro-Wrestling has began, with many new students taking the steps to learn the ropes of pro-wrestling and make it to the AWF ring. AWF management wishes all our new students well with their endeavours to become professional wrestlers and look forward to seeing their development over the coming year. For those who are interested in joining the February - April, 2009 Beginners intake, applications are now open, so email info@awfwrestling.com.au to receive your application forms and reserve your spot for next years course.

- Be sure not to miss the special discount for adults for pre-purchased tickets for the huge Championship Wrestling at The Cube event on 30 August. For $10 adults can gain entry to the event if they purchase before the day of the event. That is a $5 saving on the already cheaply priced tickets.

- Scotty Club will be competing in a number of natural bodybuilding competitions in October. He will compete as a novice in competitions set to take place in Newcastle and the Central Coast. We will keep you posted with details soon.

- AWF funny man Max Comic has been making a name for himself with some priceless imitations of AWF wrestlers. On 6 July, Comic sneakily filled in as a Platinum Player for the evening as he cheap shotted Surf Club, then went on to team with JT Robinson, in full Kid Dynamite get up! After Comic cost his team the win, JT Robinson flattened him and left him laying. Comic's next parody saw him scream "3-2-1 It's Immitation Time!" as he appeared as Bombshell Bo's mystery partner against Massive Q & Alison Wonderland on 11 July. TNT had helped Comic upset Q at Fairy Meadow on 4 July, and Comic thought he would fill in return the favour whilst TNT was battling Blakestone elsewhere. TNT was apparently not so amused, as the next night in Niagara Park, TNT handed Comic a humiliating loss, however appearing to still be somewhat friendly with Max at the aftermath of the bout. Whilst not resulting in victories, Max's antics have been somewhat entertaining, and it will be interesting to see what he has in store for gags at upcoming events.

- With wrestling crowd numbers down all across Australia, AWF encourages you more than ever to tell friends about our shows and support the product.
