It has been reported that the match between Burke and June Byers was a shoot, in that Burke was not supposed to lose the title, but when she became injured during the second fall and the match had to be stopped, Byers was awarded the title due to the fact she had won the first fall. Upset with the decision, Burke went to California and created the WWWWA, a women's promotion, and named herself as champion. She, like Byers, wore the belt until her retirement.

The event occurred during this card, with the finalists chosen to walk around the ring between matches, with the winner being announced prior to the match between Dick Steinborn and Mario Galento. Judges for the contest included wrestlers Nick Kozak, Terry Majors, and Freddie Blassie, as well as Alan Gottlieb (Vice President of Imperial Merchandisers, a sponsor giving away a watch to one of the runners-up) and Jerry Tinkie (Manger of the Atlanta Cabana Hotel, a sponsor who would be giving a runner-up a weekend for two at his hotel). The winner was to receive a trophy and an all expense paid week long vacation at Ray McCay’s Dixie Inn Motel in Laguna Beach, FL. Official Press Release
MWF "CIVIL UNREST"
September 6th, 2008
201 Conselyea St
Brooklyn, NY 11211
(718) 782-1462
September 6th, the unsuspecting citizens of Brooklyn, NY will experience a battle unlike any other, as the Metropolis Wrestling Federation unleashes it's fury, it's aggression, it's UNREST!!
Ladies and gentlemen, MWF proudly presents...CIVIL UNREST, live from Saint Francis of Paola's Schoolyard, and the card promises to be nothing short of exciting.
Lucha action at it's fullest and finest, as the card opens up with an over the top rope, lucha-style BATTLE ROYALE, featuring Lil' Mexico, Kid Liberty, Demonic Journey, Sergio Ramirez, Fuego Caldaron, & The newest member of the MWF roster, All Star Lou, who will walk out the winner?! Who will fly out the loser(s)?! These men, as will everyone, will findout.
We will hear, for the first time ever, Spike Stevens interviews the newly formed team of Luchious Lance & "Mr. SeXXXy" Jessie Stanson, with their manager, Russell of Hollywood. What will the biggest divas in MWF say? What are their plans?! Only one way to findout, is to be there to experience it.
Two aggressive personalities, two very rough styles, Corey Thorr and King Kronic meet, one on one, for the VERY FIRST TIME!!
The Empire City Assassins (Killian Whyte & Necro Black) will go head to head with K-Von Brown & DJ Mario Valentino, the last time these four men were together in the same ring, Necro Black and DJ Mario Valentino were tag partners, as were K-Von and Killian, now that the order's changed, who will walk out of there the victors?
Tiberias, still red-faced from his embaressing loss at "No Promises", seeks revenge against "Latin Sensation" Tony Blaze, but this time, there will be Tables, Ladders, & CHAIRS!!! As Jay Cortez would say, "One way, or another, someone's getting carried out of that match!!"
And with one first, you'll need a second, as Spike Stevens interviews the newest aquisition of the MWF, Matt Kaplan & Logan Black, The American Nightmare!!
It has happened in the past, a fight, a WAR, that spans back to the days of Apollo Street Wrestling Committee, Dirty Dan Dillinger vows revenge for his losses in the past, as he faces the man who gave him those losses, "The Remix Of Wrestling" Vince Steele!!
And, in a huge DOUBLE MAIN EVENT, the first being the rematch of the century, as "The Last Outlaw" Ron Price challenges MWF World Heavyweight Champion, "Darkaveli The Champ", Lucifer Darksyde in a "NO HOLDS BARRED, NO DISQUALIFICATION" match, for the gold. Will Price's hunt for the gold finally be fruitful, or will the win streak of Darksyde in this war continue?! Any way you look at it, the fans at Saint Francis will be the winners of that affair.
And, on his road to retirement, Mad Dog Joe Stone faces off against Dainja, in a rematch that Dainja signed right after the show on the 16th. Will Mad Dog's search for a worthy opponent finally end?! Will Dainja finally get that big win?! Only way to know is to show, $2 donations at the door, seating is available, all proceeds go to the Saint Francis School, and Scout troop/pack 996. For more info, goto the MWF's official myspace, or the unlimited myspace.
