Power Trip Wrestling 20/08/08 RESULTS

A New Champion, A Big Challenge, and of course....Football References!

* Petey Staniforth came out to the ring, furious because the sound guy had played the wrong song for his entrance. "Not only do I have a ginger mop for a ring announcer, my sound guy is clearly an idiot", he said, and demanded the song of his choice be played; which was the classic 1970's song by the Barron Knights; called "Hatters, Hatters, What A Great Team". Peter stood there proud with his Luton Town FC scarf raised over his head, and explained how the song meant just as much to him as the national anthem does.

He was interrupted by Kevin 'Seaside' Carter, who laughed the situation off, to even louder chants than usual of "Seaside, Seaside". Peter made the mistake of questioning Kevin's intelligence and that being the only word he knew; at which point Kevin said he knew two more and lead the crowd in a chant of "Petey Smells". Staniforth threw an almighty tantrum over it, and stormed out of the ring; at which point Kevin said to hold on one second. Was an apology coming? No way. Kevin pointed out to a rather well known and infamous in PTW, little girl; and said "You see that beautiful little girl down there, Petey? That's your daughter, Victoria! And I've never seen her throw a strop the way you just did, mate!". Petey went mad, and stormed backstage as the crowd laughed and chanted Kevin's name.

* In the first match of the evening, Marcus Phayer defeated Gino Perri.

* In a match with two newcomers to PTW, the exciting Tucker Starr defeated the monster Ronin.

* In what many in attendance called a contender for match of the night, Maverick & James Dahmer defeated Leapfrog and 'The Sicilian Superstar' Diavolo.

* In another match featuring new talent in PTW, Kid Glory defeated 'The Enforcer' Scott Dovey.

* Chris Stone & "100 %" Dan Edge challenged the owners of the campsite itself to a fight, and incredibly the owners embarrassed them and took a moral victory.

* In a challenge from the previous week, Glamour came to the ring and demanded Petey Staniforth out there to say who his opponent would be. Petey introduced Black Mamba, and the mysterious masked man defeated Glamour. But the real story came after, when Petey got on his high horse and said how PTW wrestlers were better than anyone else; as EWF promoter John Copping got into the ring and challenged Petey for a EWF vs PTW show for the final week of the PTW Summer Tour. More on this in a minute....

* The evil Dragonian defeated crowd favourite Captain T.N.T., in a hard hitting contest.

* 'Scorpion' Bill Duffy came out and demanded Petey Staniforth out there to find out who his tag partner for the evening was. Duffy & Petey have not seen eye to eye since Bill Duffy won the PTW Cruiserweight Title, and Petey threatened to leave Duffy high and dry without a partner; but relented and introduced Irish star Scott Annette. But he left Bill Duffy with the following warning...."I don't give a DAMN if you lose that belt tonight!".

Kevin 'Seaside' Carter & G defeated Bill Duffy and Scott Annette, with the PTW Cruiserweight Title on the line in the respect that whoever took the pinfall, won the belt. The crowd erupted as Kevin Carter made the winning pin, as their hero had become the NEW PTW Cruiserweight Champion!

After the match....all hell broke. Many fan favourite wrestlers came to the ring to congratulate Kevin Carter on his title win, and even Bill Duffy himself handed him the championship belt itself and said that he deserved it. But Petey Staniforth came out, and demanded that everybody got out the ring, because he needed to speak to Kevin right there and then in front of everyone.

Emotion? Real life issues? We had it here. Petey stood there, and said how he'd been there from day one of Kevin's training to become a professional wrestler, and that they'd always been close friends throughout it all. Petey said he knew how much the title meant to Kevin, and would mean to his family; and that tonight... "You know what, kid? I'm proud of you. They (and you know who I mean) never wanted you to make it, and you did; and you came of age this evening. So enjoy the win, get drunk, have fun with the girls, and I hope you sleep with the title belt."

The crowd cheered loudly, as Petey gave Kevin a big hug in the centre of the ring; was Petey finally mellowing to being a nice guy again? Of course not. Petey looked and said 'But now... when that clock strikes midnight tonight, it's game on, and I'll be doing whatever it takes to get the belt away from you. Well done kiddo....and good luck. You'll need it now."

EWF promoter John Copping came into the ring, backed up by other EWF wrestlers such as Bill Duffy, Captain T.N.T, and others, and Petey stood there and challenged them once more to an EWF vs PTW show for August 27th, with interpromotional matches throughout the night, and one big match at the end to decide it if needed. Both sides tried to bluff each other with who they'd bring, including Petey's bombshell that PTW Heavyweight Champion Mayhem WOULD be in the building next week. Threats and challenges went back and forth between all people in the ring, as a big fight erupted between PTW & EWF wrestlers. Petey's last words to John Copping and the cameraman?

"We've taken on other companies before, and we've won. And we'll do it again next week."

Can you afford to miss the very last show of PTW's Summer Tour 2008, at the Isle of Sheppey Holiday Village, in Kent; on Wednesday 27th August? Visit http://www.powertripwrestling.co.uk for all the latest news on PTW!

Tickets are $15 Ringside, $12 General Admission
Four new matches have been signed for our return show on 9-20

6-Man/Trios Action
The Puerto Rican Freebirds (Pinky Sanchez,LJ Cruz & Kid Kaos)
vs
Team New Era (Mat Bomboy,Corey Kastle & Rick Feinberg)

* At "Tradition Reborn" the PR Freebirds made a huge impact.. The Charismatic Pinky took DJ Hyde to the limit and the high flying combo of Kid Kaos and LJ Cruz impressed every one with a win over Ophidian and Fire Ant.. This time all 3 of them are in one match and the fans are in for something special.. TNE also wrestled on 8-16 and came up just short in their bid to spoil the debut of the new Downward Spiral.. Even in that narrow loss they showed the management, and more importantly the fans of IWA Tri-State that they belong in the big time and look to get on a winning track on 9-20.. Both teams have a lot to prove and this match should be very exhilarating...

Mystery Opponent
"Modern Day Enforcer" Eric Cooper
vs
Don Montoya's Mystery Wrestler w/ Don Montoya

*At the last show Eric Cooper surprised his former Teacher,Don Montoya, with a back slide and got the victory.. Embarrassed, Montoya promised revenge and that he will bring some one from both Cooper's and Montoya's past to take Cooper out for good.. Who will it be??? We have no clue but knowing the sick and twisted mind of Don Montoya, Eric Cooper should be very afraid..

Tag Team Warfare
The Downward Spiral (Twiggy Ramirez & Problem Child)
vs
The Dark Karnival (Chio & Jo Jo)

* At "Tradition Reborn", the rebirth of the Downward Spiral was one of the main points of interest for the fans coming to the show.. Twiggy & Problem Child didn't disappoint their legions of fans when the squeaked a victory over they very talented and game Team New Era.. This time they have to try their luck against the established and double tough tag team of the Dark Karnival.. Jo Jo and Chio are a real Force in tag team wrestling and are looking to come to IWA Tri-State to test their skills against the very best tag teams in the business.. Fans of South Jersey wrestling know that there is already a rivalry between Jo Jo and Problem Child, Now this issue will escalate with the involvement of their tag team partners.. This match will be a classic for the fans of traditional tag team wrestling.. I have only one more thing to say about this match and that is "Damn that's Wrestling"

2 on 1 Handicap Match
WHACKS
vs
Greg Excellent & the Hellaware Assassin

* On 8-16 Greg Excellent wanted to show off his dance skills, but WHACKS had something else in mind as he wanted to fight.. Just when you though you would see GE and WHACKS go at it, Mr. Excellent claimed he pulled a groin muscle and had a substitute to fight WHACKS.. That person turned out to be the dangerous Hellaware Assassin.. WHACKS and Hellaware battled and even used thumbtacks to hurt each other... WHACKS was about to win when a low blow by Hellaware and Greg Excellent .. WHACKS challenged both of them to a match on 9-20.. This match will be brutal...
One on One Match-Up
Patch
vs
Vinny the Fixxer
*At the last show the scheduled match up between Vinny the Fixxer and former WWE Superstar Sal Sincere got turned into a 3 way elimination match when South Jersey's own Patch also wanted to fight for the honor of the Garden State.. After Vinny and patch disposed of Sal the action picked up and they had a knock down, drag out affair.. Vinny narrowly won with the help of a steel chain.. This time though Patch vows to beat Vinny even if he has to stoop to Vinny's level.. Who will win this amazing encounter this time around??
Battle for IWA Tri-State Contract
"Pro Wrestling NOAH Superstar" Bobby Fish
vs
"The Greek God" Papadon
* Both wrestlers are looking to make a name for them selves in the IWA Tri-State promotion but room is limited.. This match has been signed so both wrestlers can prove them selves in this company.. The winner will get an IWA Tri-State Contract and if the loser can make a good showing a contract may also be offered to him.. Both wrestlers are training like never before and both will be in tip top shape for this encounter.. Bobby Fish has international experience with his work in Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan.. When he is not in the ring with the likes of Jun Akiyama he is training with the best in the business to get ready for this match.. On the other hand Papadon plans to go havok all over Bobby Fish.. This "Internet" Darling wants to show he has the goods to not only make it as a singles wrestler but also make it to the top of IWA Tri-State.. Who will win this contest where both wrestlers have a lot to gain and a whole lot to lose?.. I guess you will have to be in Sewell, NJ to find out
Announced Already
Rematch from "Tradition Reborn"
Trixie Lynn
vs
Kacee Carlisle
*At the last show Kacee used the ropes to her advantage and pinned Trixie for the 1,2,3.. Trixie wants to prove to the wrestling world that she can beat Kacee and earn the respect of the Fans of IWA Tri-State.. Will Kacee cheat her way to victory again or will Trixie come out on top?
Two of Pro Wrestling's Best Kept Secretes Collide
"Krazy K" Kirby Mack
vs
