“FREAKSHOW UNLEASHED!”

@ FAIRY MEADOW FRATERNITY CLUB

FRI 5 SEPTEMBER, 2008

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) returns to Fairy Meadow Fraternity Club on Friday 5 September to present a huge evening of pro-wrestling action, entitled “Freakshow Unleashed”.

The event itself will encapsulate a special wrestling carnival like feel and will showcase a variety of special feature bouts, making the night a massive 6 bout super card that will offer over 2 hours of live action suitable for the family. Members of “The Freakshow” faction will be appearing throughout the show, celebrating the recent Australasian Championship victory of Il Cognito, no doubt giving the event a chaotic dark carnival like atmosphere.

The main event for the evening will feature a special Champion versus Champion singles bout that will pit Young Lion’s under 25’s Champion Jay Law against recently crowned Australasian Champion “Ringmaster of The Freakshow” Il Cognito.

Cognito says he will be unleashing his phychotic clown like personality against the AWF’s resident law enforcer, Jay Law, and it will mark the downful of justice in the AWF, and him retaining the AWF Championship.

Law says he is looking forward to giving the freak some hard time, and adding the most prestigeous open weight title to his collection, making him the first ever dual champion in AWF history.

This bout promises to be a wild anything goes encounter with the balance of power in the AWF at stake.

Elsewhere on the card “Aussie Battler” Bluey Bonza will make his first defence of his newly won Young Lion’s Championship, battling former YLC Powerhouse Theo. In tag team action “Platinum Players” JT Robinson & Steve Ravenous will go up against “Black Venum” Toxin & Zander Bathory. No nonsense competitor Kyle Seminoff will return to AWF action to face Robert “The Scientist” Best. TNT will be in attendance and ready for action, and the riled up Jason “The Destroyer” Dacey, will battle the “Largest Sideshow in the World” Massive Q to round out the festivities.

“Freakshow Unleashed” is sure to be an entertaining evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation at Fairy Meadow Fraternity Club.

We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as AWF events are often turn away sell outs.

AWF WRESTLING

“MAIN EVENT WRESTLING IN MANLY”

@ MANLY WARRINGAH RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB

FRI 26 SEPTEMBER, 2008

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) makes its debut at the Manly Warringah Rugby League Club on Friday 26 September with a huge evening of pro-wrestling action, featuring Australia’s top professional wrestlers, aptly named “Main Event Wrestling in Manly”.

The AWF will deliver over 2 hours of action packed sports entertainment suitable for all ages. This event will kick start the school holidays, so will be a particularly family friendly card that will showcase a variety of different matches, fighting styles, characters and championship bouts.

The main event of the evening will see the recently crowned Australasian Champion, “Ringmaster of The Freakshow” Il Cognito, take on the challenge of “Australian Made’s” popular party animal, Scotty Club.

Il Cognito has been tearing up the competition as AWF Champion, with successful defences against top contenders Steve Ravenous of “The Platinum Players”, Powerhouse Theo of “The Detonation Crew” and a host of others. His ruthless tactics have increased as champion, and it appears he and his group of Freaks will stop at nothing to keep the AWF Championship in their grasps.

Scotty Club, likewise, has been on a tear in singles competition as of late, also defeating Powerhouse Theo, and members of “The Freakshow” in his road to the title shot. Scotty has trained hard over recent months, and has conditioned himself into the best shape of his life in preparation for his title bout. Club is a former Tag Team and Young Lion’s Champion, and would like nothing more than to bring the Australasian Title on board to the new “Australian Made” group in their first AWF Title shot.

In another main event quality bout, former AWF Australasian Champion TNT, will take on Australia’s rising star and Manly local, Bluey Bonza.

Wrestler of the January to July season, TNT, recently lost the AWF Australasian Title after holding the Championship for almost 1 ½ years and is beyond livid. TNT wants nothing more than to get a win here so as to climb back into contention for a Title bout rematch.

Bonza was recently named Future Prospect Award winner of the January to July season, meaning that he showed the most promise in the period to become the next breakthrough star. A win here against TNT, in front of his home town audience would be the biggest victory of his career and would catapult Bluey to the top of the contenders circle.

A lot is riding on this bout for both competitors, so it will be no doubt a hard fought match with plenty of intensity and both competitors playing to win.

Powerhouse Theo will look to avenge the honor of “The Detonation Crew”, as he takes on the AWF intruder, Blakestone, in a match pitting the two most powerful men in Australian wrestling.

Blakestone cost TNT the AWF Championship on 6 July when he interfered during the Championship Climax four way bout, throwing a chair at TNT’s head costing him the title. Theo, the enforcer of “The Detonation Crew” has vowed revenge for TNT and says he will take Blakestone out, and with the win he will take charge and bring the Australasian title back to “The Crew”.

Blakestone is a massive man and has incredible strength, agility and skill, to make him a very well rounded force to be reckoned with. He is a marked man in AWF, and Theo is someone who can match his qualities. This will be a titanic first time encounter.

A huge under card is planned for Manly, which will feature intriguing and exciting match ups such as a the Tag Team Championship’s being defended with The Freakshow taking on the Detonation Crew. There will be a special women’s bout pitting Shazza McKenzie against Araura from the Far East. Rounding out the card will be a heavyweight bout with “The Platinum Players” Steve Ravenous battling “Raging” Nick Ferno.

“AWF Main Event Wrestling in Manly” is sure to be great evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation at Manly Warringah Rugby League Club.

We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as AWF are often turn away sell outs. Tickets on sale now at the venue and from the AWF Website.

AWF WRESTLING

MAYHEM IN MIRANDA!

MIRANDA YOUTH CENTRE

SAT 27 SEPTEMBER, 2008

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) debuts at The Miranda Youth Centre on Saturday 27 September with a huge evening of pro-wrestling action, featuring Australia’s top professional wrestlers entitled “Mayhem In Miranda”.

The event itself will showcase the best AWF has to offer in a variety of feature bouts, making the night a special 6 bout super card!

The main event for the “Mayhem In Miranda” card will feature a 3 Way Australasian Title Bout featuring Champion and ringmaster of “The Freakshow” Il Cognito, against “The Platinum Player’s” JT Robinson and “Detonation Crew’s” TNT.

All men have intense histories with each other, and are the three longest standing members of the AWF roster. Il Cognito was responsible for defeating TNT for the AWF Title in Blacktown on 6 July, and the two have had an intense hatred for each other in the ring since they first came into contact in 2000. JT Robinson recently almost came away with the Australasian Title, after a brutal Campbelltown Street Fight bout against Il Cognito on 30 August, and feels it is his time to take the title. TNT and Robinson also have a longstanding rivalry, lasting over a decade, with TNT even shaving JT’s head after one memorable battle. This bout is set to be intense and full of hatred, as once again these top AWF veterans test themselves to see who is better, with the winner to walk away as Australasian Wrestling Champion.

In addition to the main event, local area wrestlers will get to showcase their skills, with scientifically skilled local Robert “The Scientist” Best taking on cocky former Young Lion’s and Tag Team Champion, Kid Dynamite. Robert commented “I have waited a long time for the AWF to come to my home town, and I urge sports fans and fellow scientists to come along and support the event, so we can make them regular occurances in the area. The scientific outcome of my bout, may come down to fan support, so I look forward to breaking down the elements and extinguishing the fizzle of Kid Dynamite for you all at Miranda. Hope to see you there!”

Another local competitor featured will be Shire snob, the singularly named “Rockafella”, who will take on the always electrifying Adam Hoffman of the “Australian Made” faction. Rockafella is a relatively newcomer to AWF, and his high brow antics have made him a targeted man instantly. Adam Hoffman is the premier high flier in AWF, with moves that will excite fans to no end. Hoffman says he will do the people of Miranda and Australia a service, by humbling Rockafella, and sending him down a few notches on the ego stick.

Other huge bouts on the event will see mixed tag team action featuring Young Lion’s Champion Bluey Bonza paired with Shazza McKenzie battling “The Freakshow’s” Zander Bathory & Alison Wonderland. The moster known as Blakestone will try to rampage through the “Detonation Crew’s” Billy Flyswat, and Steve Ravenous & Jay Law will battle “The Freakshow” combination of Massive Q and Toxin in tag team action.

“AWF Mayhem In Miranda” is sure to be great evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation at Miranda Youth Centre.

AWF LIVE EVENTS RESULTS AUGUST 2008

AWF “Championship Wrestling @ The Cube”

Sat 30 August, 2008

Campbelltown Catholic Club

Campbelltown, NSW, Australia

Attendance: 520

Results: Rob Best b Max Comic, Powerhouse Theo & Chris X b Steve Ravenous & Kid Dynamite, Bluey Bonza defeated Jay Law, Surf Club b Massive Q & Toxin, Blakestone b TNT, AWF Championship: Il Cognito b JT Robinson

Notes:

- 520 paying fans turned out to The Cube in Campbelltown on Sat 30 August to see the return of AWF to the area. The high production for the event was well recieved and provided a great atmosphere, aiding as a backdrop to the fantastic night of wrestling that was witnessed.

- Platinum Players came out with Jay Law lurking in the background to start the show, and told the fans that they would walk away with all the AWF Championship gold before the night was out. Il Cognito entered and said he'd worked too hard and they weren't taking his belt, setting the scene for the main event.

- Robert "The Scientist" scored another Young Lion's victory over Max Comic in the opening bout.

- The Detonation Crew Vs Platinim Players tag match turned into an inpromptue title bout after some baiting by The Players. However it was to no avail, as the Crew were still able to win the bout in the absence of Billy Flyswat.

- Bluey Bonza defeated Jay Law to become the new Young Lion's Champion. The action culminated when Steve Ravenous and Kid Dynamite's interference was getting out of hand, and Surf Club charged the ring evening the odds. Then from nowhere a female Bluey ally jumped up to the ring distracting Law, allowing Bonza to hit the Bley Thunder driver and score the win. Australian Made celebrated in the ring and with fans after the bout.

- Surf Club where impressive in their win over "The Freakshow's" Toxin & Massive Q. After the bout Scotty Club urged fans to join him at Manly for his AWF Title shot against whoever was Champion on 26 September, and told fans that he would bring the belt back to Campbelltown when he wins it.

- Blakestone used his power and strength to overcome TNT in the big Grudge Match of the evening, scoring with a devestating fireman's slam to obtain victory.

- Il Cognito retained the AWF Australasian Championship downing JT Robinson in a wild Campbelltown Street Fight. Action spilled all over the building, with Il Cognito being thrown from the stage at one point, and JT Robinson being superplexed to the floor in another painful moment. After much back and forth action Il Cognito superplexed Robinson through a table for the victory. At the completion of the bout Kid Dynamite & Steve Ravenous attacked Il Cognito, leading to Toxin & Q entering to fend them off. The lurking Jay Law told Il Cognito he would take the title at Fairy Meadow on Fri 5 September to end the event.

- Next AWF live event is Fairy Meadow on 5 September entitled “Freakshow Unleashed!”

AWF NEWSWIRE AUGUST, 2008

- Championship Wrestling @ The Cube on 30 August was a successful return to Campbelltown for AWF, with 520 paid fans attending to see a great night of AWF action. Il Cognito narrowly managed to withstand the onslaught of JT Robinson in the main event after a wild battle all over the Cube, which definately took it's toll on both men. Stemming from the bout, Jay Law will face Il Cognito at Fairy Meadow on Fri 5 September. Due to such a close battle on 30 August, the AWF commission has granted JT Robinson a rematch in a three way bout, with former AWF Champion TNT, in what will be an epic Title match with AWF's three longest standing wrestlers at Miranda on 27 September. On the 26th, whoever the AWF Champion is stemming from Fairy Meadow, will face the in shape and form, Scotty Club at Manly Warringah Leagues Club. The AWF Australasian Title picture is as hot as ever, and Il Cognito has his hands full as champion in September.

- Bluey Bonza gained his first AWF Title on 30 August, defeating rival Jay Law in an intense bout to become new Young Lion's Champion. Bonza had been edging away at Law over the last 6 months, coming close on many occasions, with Law narrowly escaping with the title due to underhanded means. Bonza was recently named Future Prospect of the Jan-July Season, and his win certainly sets Bluey up to become one of the big names in AWF. Bonza also seems to have attracted the helping hand of a female friend, who distracted Law leading to Bluey's title victory, and we are told she will appear with Bluey and Surf Club, to form the group "Australian Made". Things seem to really be falling into place for Bluey Bonza, and all his hard work in and out of the ring has bought him deservant championship gold. Bonza will face the challenge of Detonation Crew members Powerhouse Theo and TNT at upcoming events, so will no doubt be tested immediately, possibly like never before. AWF management wishes Bluey Bonza success with his Young Lion's Title reign.

- The invader known as Blakestone has impressed AWF officials and will compete in upcoming AWF events. The muscled warrior invaded AWF at Blacktown on 6 July, costing TNT the Australasian Championship. After a heated back and forth bout at Nightmare's 11 July bout, TNT pinned Blakestone in a small measure of revenge. Blakestone however was granted a rematch against TNT at the AWF Campbelltown event, and bounced back by handing TNT a rare defeat at the big Cube event. The TNT / Blakestone war doesn't seem to be over, as Blakestone will face "Detonation Crew" members Powerhouse Theo and Billy Flyswat on upcoming September cards.

- AWF Tag Team Champion, Billy Flyswat will return to AWF action on 26 September.

- Things are heating up for the big Tradition Reigns Commonwealth Title Tournament in New Zealand for 3 & 4 October, with Jay Law and TNT being the Australian representatives for the tourney. New Zealand's best will field the remainder of the field, including the likes of Tommy Combat, Axl, Jimmy Sparks, AJ Freely, Roger Ventura, D-Hoya and many more. Final bracketing will be announced in the coming days at www.awfwrestling.co.nz .

- Sat 11 October 11 will be the last Blacktown RSL event for 2008, and is aptly named, "No Excuses!" so book early as this will likely be another packed event. Tickets are available from the Club now. The newly bald headed Powerhouse Theo has been granted an AWF Title shot for the event.

- AWF will have new T-Shirts and DVDs at upcoming September events.

- With wrestling crowd numbers down all across Australia, AWF encourages you more than ever to tell friends about our shows and support the product. If you are someone that wishes to help promote AWF, please contact us to join our street and promotions team to spread the word. Email info@awfwrestling.com.au with your details.
