World Wrestling Entertainment’s SmackDown/ECW crew will be at the Spokane Arena in Spokane, WA, tonight. Advertised: Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Jr., John Morrison & the Miz versus Evan Bourne, Ricky Ortiz, Kofi Kingston & CM Punk; and Triple H defends the WWE Heavyweight Title against the Big Show.
WWE’s Cyber Series PPV will be broadcast live from the US Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ, on October 26. Advertised: Chris Jericho defends the WWE World Heavyweight Title against Batista, with fans voting via text messaging to pick a special referee, with the options being Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, or Shawn Michaels; and Santino Marella defends the WWE Inter-Continental Heavyweight Title against Roddy Piper, Golddust, or the Honky Tonk Man, as voted by the fans via text messaging.
WWE has announced the No Way Out PPV event will be broadcast live from the Key Arena in Seattle, WA, on February 15.

Reginald Gable managed Roy Nelson. The program we have for this card makes reference to a new ticket office being located at 78 Houston Street. Previously, fans had been directed to purchase advance tickets at the Atlanta Hatters location at 124 Peachtree Street. Incidentally, the same staff members as previously mentioned are still credited, Bill Hartman and Simon Davis. Also, the “Live Atlanta Wrestling” program has held it’s time slot on Saturday afternoons from 6:00 to 7:30 since the aforementioned change. There is also a mention that Dick Steinborn’s record titled “Go Dickie Go” is on sale at the ticket office. Steinborn participated in an autograph session for fans. It was announced that Jan Madrid and Jack O’Reilly would be wrestling in Atlanta soon.

OCTOBER 7, 1970 (WEDNESDAY) – COLUMBUS, GA – COLUMBUS MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM [P] (Fred Ward – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Robert Ito and Mr. Ito wrestled to a draw > Eduardo DeLynch defeated Cisco Grimaldo > Skandor Akbar & Kubla Khan defeated Bob Armstrong & Kevin Sullivan > Georgia Heavyweight Title Match: Buddy Colt* defeated Bobby Shane (2-0) to retain title > Columbus Heavyweight Title Match: Bill Dromo* and Paul DeMarco wrestled to a draw (1-1) / Notes: No documented results for this card have been found. Homer O’Dell managed Skandor Akbar. Bob Armstrong was in Bobby Shane’s corner for Shane’s match against Buddy Colt. The match between Bill Dromo and Paul DeMarco was called a draw in the third fall when referees Charlie Smith and Leon Ogle disagreed on which man reentered the ring first on a ten count as they both entered just as the count reached ten. As a result, the Columbus Heavyweight Title was held up pending a rematch on October 14, 1970. It is unclear as to how Dromo came to be recognized as champion. The last reference we have shows tournament matches on July 22, 1970, in Columbus in what appears to have been a process to name the inaugural champion, but no results have been found. Further, there is a note in the program for this card that Dromo had won the title in a tournament in September 1970, so it is unclear if the July matches began a tournament that wasn’t completed until sometime in September.

Pro Wrestling Unplugged and it's promotional partners at Maverick Omnicorp announced today that the Oct. 25 PWU Dark Night 2008 Fan Appreciation Event is being moved to Boyle's World Gym in Philadelphia. Along with that, all future television tapings will be held at Boyle's World Gym.
In a joint statement issued by PWU President Johnny Kashmere, Maverick Omnicorp President Lance Ferguson, and Executive Producer Dexter Holley, the following information was provided:
"We are extremely pleased to announce this move and this permanent partnering with Boyle's World Gym of Philadelphia. It was a huge decision for us to make, but after being totally overwhelmed by emails and calls from our loyal fans demanding that we come back to Philly, we had to make the move. PWU was born and raised in Philadelphia, and our fans have stuck with us throughout many changes and ups and downs. We owe it to them to come home to Philadelphia, the greatest wrestling town in the world. They have spoken, and we're headed home for good. All future television programs will be taped at Boyle's World Gym. It is a great venue, and Bob Boyle is dedicated to providing the fans with the best events possible."
Management also announced today that PWU World Champion Teddy Fine has asked his good friend Psycho Sid Vicious to be his opponent at Dark Night 2008. Fine has made no secret of the fact that he grew up watching Sid and was a huge fan, and now wants to honor him by giving him a shot at the PWU World Championship. Sid has accepted, and said that he is honored that Fine, who he has known for quite some time, has made this opportunity available. This is Teddy Fine's biggest challenge yet, in many ways! This is also Sid's second shot at the PWU World Title, having faced 2 Cold Scorpio once before. Teddy Fine vs his childhood hero Sid Vicious, friend against friend, in what is sure to be a great scientific matchup at Dark Night 2008!
We've just learned as well that Amy Lee will be accompanied by Mike Trash (host of Trash Talking Radio) for her match against PWU Women's Champion Missy Sampson in the first ever PWU women's hardcore matchup.
In addition, Lucky will face Aramis in a Last Chance Ladder Match. Promoters have stated that this will be the last ladder match sanctioned between these two young stars.
Promoters have stated that a Casket Match will be a part of the event as well, but no word yet on who the participants will be. In addition, we've been told that there will be a Barbed Wire match as well added to this historic event!
Also on the show, the return of the Batcave with Johnny Kashmere. Johnny's special guest will be Twisted Sand, the son of Hardcore Icon The Sandman.
Don't forget Kashmere's Costume Contest as well! Prizes given out all through the night for best costume, most original costume, and several other categories.
Trick or treating for the kids all night as well!
Just added as well, Big Country will face Dr. Ruthless in a Battle of the Big Men. Over 750 pounds of fight will be in the ring for this one!
Promoters have also announced that PWU management has voted to add a secondary championship to the lineup. PWU will sanction the PWU American Championship, and a tournament featuring talent from all around the nation will begin at Dark Night 2008 on Oct. 25.
