The following is a recap from Frank’s interview on the show, provided by The Mayhem's official show correspondent, Dan Kriegbaum:
The Mayhem Crew welcomed Frank to the show, and right off the bat, Frank told Mosh, Blade, & DFL that "we was robbed." As many fans of the show know from watching this past week's episode of "Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling," Frank has a fear of heights, so he was worried about the possibility of having to jump off the top rope. He also added that Dennis Rodman legitimately injured his shoulder on the program, and that he had to replace him in the match, instead of being the manager (which was his original role).
Mosh asked Frank if he feels he received the "Joan Collins Special" by being eliminated so early, after being predicted by many to go so far. Frank asked The Mayhem to get some feedback from its fans from around the world, and said that he has received a large number of messages from fans of his own, saying that he was eliminated too early. Frank said that they really did not have any time to rehearse anything, and mentioned how Rodman had past experience already (with his work in World Championship Wrestling). Frank then stated that the production crew spent a lot of time trying to get interviews with the cast in the lounge, and with being interrupted, that took away from their training time to practice the moves. Frank then said that the contestants collectively agreed that they probably would have been better off starting a month earlier to have more time to learn the basics.
Frank then talked about the injury to Dennis Rodman, stating that it was only about an hour or so before the show, and the fans were already starting to enter the building which is why "Nasty Boy" Brian Knobbs "was kinda' freaking out." He mentioned that "Nasty" was debating on what to do, due to the circumstances, and decided to put Frank in to wrestle instead of manage.
The Mayhem Crew then asked Frank whether or not he can see himself ever doing professional wrestling full-time. Frank said that he is getting older, but said that you "can't rule anything out," and maybe he could "turn into the new Jimmy Hart or something."
In regards to his fear of heights & having to jump off the top rope, Mosh & Blade asked Frank if he thinks that was one of the reasons why he was eliminated. Frank said that it might have been, as both he & his brother (Sylvester) think the wrestling part was fine. He added, "I wasn't hired to be a trapeze act...I was hired to wrestle." Frank also said that he won the challenge on the first episode, but it was never shown.
The Big Mosh mentioned Frank's contributor role on "The Contender" reality series, as well as his time on "Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling," and asked Frank about the similarities/differences between the two sports/programs, and how it could be easy/difficult for guys like Floyd Mayweather to make the transition. Frank said that he knew a little about wrestling from when his brother was on "Paradise Alley" in the 70's, and remembered how fast & strong the wrestlers were, with a little margin of error & big risk of injury. Frank then hinted at a possible contestant getting injured on the show, saying "I can't say too much, but just watch & see." He mentioned that in boxing, you try to spend most of your career off the canvas, while in wrestling "it's quite the opposite." He then gave an example from CCW, where they were learning clotheslines, and he saw a red flag pop up -- risking injury to his voice box & ending his career, being in a ring with "amateurs," unlike the "pro trainers," who he was not too worried to work with.
The Mayhem Crew asked Frank what it was like getting to work with guys like "Nasty Boy" Brian Knobbs & Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake on the show, along with the others. Frank said that both Knobbs & "Beef" were both great guys to work with in the long run. He added that the girls were scared & nervous at the beginning, as it's a "rough masculine sport" with "a lot of testosterone going around."
Blade then asked Frank about the Nikki Ziering "locker room rumors" that were mentioned in passing on the "Bubba The Love Sponge" radio show, and like Tiffany said last week on The Mayhem, Frank also said the rumors were not true at all. Frank added that her fiancee, Rick, an ex-pro baseball player, was at the show & is a "really cool guy." Frank mentioned that a blogger leaked a whole bunch of rumors, but "it's all bologna." He then said that none of that went on at all, as all of the women who competed are in relationships that he knows of, "but there are some funky rumors going around."
The MNM Crew asked Frank about Dustin "Screech" Diamond (former two-time MNM guest), and whether or not he would have liked to hit him with an "El Kabong" guitar shot. Frank said that Dustin was okay with him, although he could be a little "out there" at times. He also said that Dustin is one of the better wrestlers on the show, because he gets into it & enjoys it more than some of the others. "He's kinda' gawky lookin....He's not like Jimmy Snuka, but he's good." Frank recommended that fans stay tuned, because the show is going to keep getting better as it goes on.
An e-mail from a Mayhem listener mentioned famous "brother" tag teams in professional wrestling, and asked Frank if a Stallone Brothers tag team would ever be a possibility, even if it would only be a one-time shot. Frank said, "I wouldn't hold my breath on that," and said he does not think they would delve into the "bone-crushing business" at their age.
In closing, Mosh, Blade, & DFL asked Frank if we would see a return appearance on CCW, and Frank said that "you never know who you'll see on the show." Could Frank be returning to the show? Or is he referring to someone else that we don't know about? The only way you can find out is by tuning into CMT's "Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling," every Saturday night at 8PM ET/PT.
