4 Title Matches Highlight Holiday Action in West Paterson, NJ
(WEST PATERSON, NJ)- Independent Wrestling Federation kicks-off the holiday season with a bang as live action returns with Thanksgiving Thunder Weekend this Saturday, November 22, 7:30 pm and Sunday, November 23, 4 pm, at IWF Centre, 32 Willow Way, West Paterson, NJ. Here is a complete preview of the upcoming events.
Day one Saturday, November 22 features a return bout for the IWF Heavyweight Title as four-time champion Kevin Knight defends against challenger Juicy Justin Corino. Corino was an eyelash away from capturing the gold last month at Evil Intentions if it wasn't for some ill-timed interference from his bumbling former Pretty Smart partner. With Justin on his own, the rematch with Kevin takes place in a Best Two-Out-of-Three Falls encounter to decide a winner once and for all.
In an IWF American Title Grudge Match, challenger Dark Dragon Kareem West battles current kingpin Damian Adams with Commissioner Rich Ross. Last month, West turned down Ross' offer to join his rouge group, therefore West paid the price as The Family stopped at nothing to claim the IWF Tag Team Titles from West while permanently injuring his former partner The Playboy. Kareem now plans to extract a measure of revenge and strip Adams of American Gold.
The IWF Tag Team Titles will be up for grabs as former champions Biggie Biggs and Mad Dawg Jenkins, known as "Bigg Nutz," tangle with new champions Hi-Definition Chris Steeler and The Mastodon Franciz with Rich Ross. Steeler and Franciz returned the Tag Team Belts to The Family last month and look to continue their dominance with a win over the popular former title-holders.
The long-awaited rematch, three months in the making, happens for the IWF Junior Heavyweight Title as The Tasmanian She-Devil Jennifer meets current champion, the Feisty Femme-Fatal Jana. Jana refused to issue a return bout, so Jennifer worked her way back up the rankings the past few months and the Championship Committee demanded one last title confrontation between these two female athletes.
On his own and free of The Ross Family, Stellar Travis Blake takes to the mat against Perennial No-Hoper Evan Schwartz. After Blake surprisingly returned last month under a mask to upend Adams in a non-title bout, Boss Ross refuses to grant the former associate any future matches against a current family member. Travis starts anew at the bottom of the rankings and has to climb past Schwartz on his way back to title contention.
King of the Streets Tony Torres and Latino Wonder Antonio Rivera of "Latin Revolution" try to end the blame game about their recent lack of success and unite again in tag team action against the new duo of Portuguese Powerhouse Dan Marques and German Menace Kraig Stagg, named by their advisor Evan Schwartz as "Foreign Affairs."
Mat stars from Tennessee debut in the IWF at Thanksgiving Thunder on November 22 as Shane Williams wrestles Sigmon in singles action.
The Main Event for day two Sunday, November 23, features a Six-Man Tag Team Open Challenge Match with The Ross Family ... IWF American Champion Damian Adams and IWF Tag Team Champions Hi-Definition Chris Steeler and The Mastodon Franciz. Which three opponents will step up to the plate and attempt to end Ross' reign of terror?
