MCW HOLIDAY HELL PREVIEW
www.marylandwrestling.com
Maryland Championship Wrestling returns to the New Green Room (2401 North Point Blvd - Dundalk, MD) on Saturday night, December 27th, for HOLIDAY HELL 2008.
Matches already announced include:
MCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
CHRISTIAN YORK (champion) vs. THE SUGARMASK
Christian York will walk into Holiday Hell as the first wrestler in MCW history to hold the Heavyweight Championship for one full year. His plan is to celebrate in front of the MCW fans on December 27th, with a victory over The Sugarmask. The Sugarmask earned the title shot by defeating the former 5-time Champion The Bruiser at Monster Mash. Sugarmask believes that he has the right plan to defeat York and take the title away from him. York plans on doing whatever is necessary to ensure that his celebration goes on as planned. Who will walk out Champion?
MCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - LADDER MATCH
THE GHETTO MAFIA (Dope & Creed - champions) vs. RYAN McBRIDE & TEDDY STIGMA
At Shamrock Cup VIII, these two teams battled each other in a match that could have gone either way. Many fans have already called that match as the match of the year. Now, the rematch! For The Ghetto Mafia, it's a chance to showcase their dominance of the MCW tag team division. For Stigma & McBride, it's a chance to finally win the gold that has eluded them for well over a year. Stigma & McBride grew up as fans of MCW, dreaming of winning gold one day. Has that day arrived? Insiders say that this will be the final opportunity for Ryan & Teddy to win the titles. Can they climb the ladder of success, and pull down the tag titles. Or, will the Mafia cement their legacy as the greatest MCW Tag Team Champions of all time?
FINAL BATTLE
JOSH DANIELS vs. DEREK FRAZIER
On July 8th, 2007, Josh Daniels defeated then-Cruiserweight Champion Derek Frazier in the first round of Shamrock Cup VII, an event which Daniels, later that evening, would win. Little did fans know that the Shamrock Cup 1st round matchup would be the start of a rivalry that has seen many twists and turns. Daniels would spend 2007 chasing after Frazier's title. In December 2007, at Holiday Homecoming, Daniels would finally win it, forcing Frazier to submit. As a result, Derek Frazier was on the shelf with a knee injury that made him sit out for 6 months. During that time, Daniels would continue his dominance of the Cruiserweight Division.
Frazier would return and win Shamrock Cup VIII, denying Daniels the opportunity to become the first man to win back-to-back Cups. When Daniels found out that Commissioner Kelly Bell ordered him to defend to title against Frazier, Daniels declined, forcing Commissioner Bell to strip Daniels of the Cruiserweight Title. Daniels would return to cost Frazier a chance to win the Cruiserweight Title, as he would lose to Sabian for the vacant title, when Daniels attacked Frazier, hitting him with the title belt.
17 months of tension will finally come to an end, when these two great MCW superstars wage war one last time.
BATTLE FOR THE NAME
THE ORIGINAL REHOBOTH BEACH CREW (Tyler Hilton & Zachary Shane w/ Tara) vs. THE NEW REHOBOTH BEACH CREW (JB & LK w/ Noel Harlow)
Fans witnessed the formation of the RBC 2 years ago when Tyler Hilton, Zachary Shane, & LK formed the group, which was seen on their reality show "The Real Rehoboth Beach." LK would later form the "New RBC" with new partner JB. Their success would cause two guys to become, some would say, jealous. Following several discussions and meetings with Tara, Hilton & Shane would reunite and reform the "Original RBC," with their sole purpose being to destroy "the pretenders to their throne."
On December 27th, only one team would be able to call themselves "The Rehoboth Beach Crew" as Hilton & Shane will battle JB & LK, with the winners claiming the rights to the name. An important factor of the match involve the women who will in outside the ring. Tara, representing Hilton & Shane, had spent 6 months trying to find a team to could eliminate JB & LK. Noel, representing JB & LK, was smart enough to put those two together and take them to new heights of success, much to the dismay of Tara.
Which team will survive and be the one and only REHOBOTH BEACH CREW? Do not miss this match, December 27th in Dundalk, MD.
