NWA Main Event – ION episode 30 Airing October 25, 2008 in Nashville on ION Taped October 21, 2008 at the Nashville Fairgrounds Sports Arena
1 – NEW YORK ROCKERS (New York Gangster & Damien Payne) vs. BRYAN CASEY & LARRY COOTER
Jason James and Tyler Clemmons spent the opening minutes running down the rest of the card. Body of the match saw the heels pull chicanery and work over Gangster’s arm. Cooter missed a Lawler fist drop, and it was fists of fire from Payne. Gangster hit a stunner. They called it the Rocker Dropper. I believe that name is taken. Payne finished Casey with a top rope double knee.
Winner: New York Rockers in 6:45. OK except the heels showed more smarts and wrestling skill. Gangster moves well for his size, but doesn’t look like much of a babyface. Payne is borrowing from Dusty for his babyface makeover.
Promo by the soon to be debuting Aiden Scott, who already debuted on one of the State Fair episodes, but who can blame them for wanting to forget about those shows. Anyway, this was not good. They way the shot was framed made Scott look like a pinhead.
New York Rockers promo. No idea why this aired. It was cut to preview a match that already taken place, and did them no favors as babyfaces.
2 – CHRIS CANE vs. PENNYWISE the CLOWN
Cane worked over the clown’s neck. Clemmons said Cane was imagining that it was J.P. Lightning. Cane use a Curt Hennig over the top neck snap. “Yeah, but he is far from Mr. Perfect, I’ll tell you that much, is Chris Cane,” said James. Cane sadistically picked Pennywise apart until Scarlett Rose jumped up on the ring apron. Cane grabbed her by the hair. Pennywise reversed Cane with a small package for the pin. Cane kept beating on the clown’s neck. Scarlett jumped on Cane, and he gave her a wicked neckbreaker. Off came the clown mask to reveal J.P. Lightning underneath. He attacked Cane with all the mobility of Frankenstein. Scarlett was carried to the back.
Winner: Pennywise (AKA J. P. Lightning) in 5:05. I liked the story. It had the element of surprise. Lightning’s wrestling looked so awkward in the clown outfit that I couldn’t tell it was him.
Promo by Lightning. Scarlett was in the background wearing the neckbrace. Lightning said his neck was 100% and he was challenging Cane to a match.
Cane promo. He tried to say he knew it was Lightning in the clown suit all along, but it made no sense. “Why don’t you put your rail hopping hussy where your mouth is?”
3 – SHANE SMALLS vs. BILLY HARDWAY
Winner: Smalls in
4 – Mid America Television Title Match: Champion STEVE-O vs. SHANK “The Freak” BARZINI (with Walt Barzini)

6 – SNAKE JONES (with Charming Charles & Little Booger) vs. CHRIS PHOENIX
Winner:
