3PW returned to the rapidly changing ECW Arena last night.
Low Ki defeated Slyk Wagner Brown. In a less than needed storyline twist, it seems that 3PW is beginning to split up Slyk Wagner Brown and April Hunter, with Low Ki ragging on Brown that he pays "more attention to his 'piece' than his pride", and Brown leaving the ring without Hunter. Later in the show, Tod Gordon comes out and claims he's going to manage April Hunter to the 3PW title...separate and apart from Brown.
CJ O'Doyle defeated Rob Eckos by DQ after a shot with the ringbell to the head. Yep...a DQ in the ECW Arena
Gary Wolfe and Mike Kruel retained their 3PW Tag team Titles, defeating Monsta Mack and Damian Adams by pinfall
In a very good match, Chris Sabin defeated Joey Matthews. Matthews proceeded to tell people that he was now going to be a "sports entertainer" rather than a wrestler to get ahead, noted by his new outfit.Post-match, a challenge was made for the second "loser leave a promotion" match in as many weeks as a challenge was made for between Sabin and Matthews. This leads to reasonable speculation that TNA talent is being pulled from independent shows to put them on TNA 'house shows", as Chris Sabin and Sonjay Dutt have been "signed" to such matches with 3PW and CZW respectively in two consecutive weeks.
Post-intermission, Roadkill and Blue Meanie defeated Double Trouble (Jack Victory and Rockin Rebel). After the previous show's antics where Jack Victory (who has lost an amazing amount of weight) had "called Rebel by cellphone" and said "he was busy at local strip club Cheerleaders"...Rebel claimed he was "injured" and forced Victory to work the match by himself.
As mentioned earlier, Tod Gordon comes out and stated he's going to manage April Hunter to the 3PW title...separate and apart from Slyk Wagner Brown. In a brief match, April Hunter defeated "the baddest man in all of ECW"...Donn E. Allen. For reasons that were not clear at all, the referee reversed the decision and gave Allen the win.
In a surprise (although given what I've written above...perhaps not for long) Simon Diamond returned to the ECW Arena wrestling Str...er....Ric Flair...um, Striker.Striker's latest incarnation as Ric Flair, was usual, hilarious with a fake nose, wig and well...a certain sagging part of Flair's visible anatomy. Striker had every Flair cliche down pat, as well as every Flair spot including the face bump.
In the match that most of the crowd came to see, Christopher Daniels retained his 3PW Heavyweight Title over AJ Styles, with some interference from Low Ki and his apparent new stable mate, Slyk Wagner Brown. As for the changes in the building, the most obvously visible is the gigantic Miller Beer ad banner covering the entire south wall of the building. The other part that fans may have noted is a new sound system with four speakers in the roof of the building completed actually hours before the 3PW show started. For those so interested, the building is still undergoing renovations, which include parts of the building (not Arena seating area) being opened as a small youth community computer training, with the entrances to the back of the building being reconfigured accordingly.3PW returns to the ECW Arena on December 18th.
