Additional details on Abyss' TNA status, Jeff Jarrett's new position, 3PW
On Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 9:02 PM EST - To add on the last two posts we had regarding Abyss and his status with TNA, it appears it all went down as follows. On Tuesday night at the Impact! tapings in Orlando, Abyss approached several members of TNA management that included Jeff Jarrett. He informed him that his deal had already expired with the company and was seeking a raise in order to stay. Abyss made sure to note that he has had some interest from WWE. At that point, Jarrett was said to have gotten very upset over Abyss' decision, especially when he decided to tell them just 15 minutes before the actual tapings started.
Dusty Rhodes did his best to calm everyone down and sent Abyss home for the night, informing him that it wasn't the place nor the time to deal with the issue. One source close to the situation later stated that Abyss offered to work TV and the upcoming Final Resolution PPV before leaving, doing jobs to anyone on the way out. Obviously TNA officials are not happy about the situation and much heat remains on Bob Ryder as he is the one responsible for dealing with contract issues. Many feel the chances of Abyss sticking around TNA are very low and expect him to be on his way out already.
- Many workers in TNA have begun to take notice that Jeff Jarrett leaving the position as head booker has completely changed him and was one of the best moves he has done. The word is that Jarrett looks more rejuvenated at recent tapings for Impact. Jarrett still remains involved with negotiations concerning the company and with Rhodes as the head booker, he now has time to take care of business deals involving Fox Sports Net (among other possible deals in the works).
- TNA workers AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and Chris Sabin are all booked for the upcoming 3PW event in Philadelphia, PA at the ECW Arena on January 15.
