CZW returned to the ECW Arena last night for "GenZ: The Transfusion" before a disappointing crowd.
Much of this had to do with the lack of promotion of matches before the show, as well as an almost total lack of the New York/North Jersey fans owing to the New York Jets playoff game, with what North Jersey wrestling fans not home watching the playoff game up at the CSWF show in Wayne, NJ which drew a much larger than normal crowd for the promotion.
CZW regulars and favorites Homicide, Jimmy Rave, and Roderick Strong also worked the Full Impact Pro show in Tampa, FL last night as well.
The promotion also had to deal with 15 "letters of complaint" who it appears were sent by what we'll call "an individual" masquerading as concerned individuals in the community sent to the building and/or to the State Athletic Commission...who, according to the ECW Arena's building manager, appear to have been writtten by one individual. The letters made unsubstantiated claims about Cage of Death that there were "people bleeding in the crowd"; and claiming that the Philadelphia Police would come to arrest any fans in the crowd under 16 (an alleged curfew on the books in Philadelphia that has never been enforced in the City's history) there past midnight, as well as the City Health Department.
I personally asked the Arena manager about 2 possible individuals that could have sent these letters...and when I named 2 names in particular, the building manager smiled. At least two people in and around CZW expressed similar thoughts publicly and to State Atheltic Commission staff, who had taped the Cage of Death and could see clearly that the claims in the "letters from the community" made were unsubstantiated.
If that wasn't enough, Messiah and JC Bailey misssed the show due to flight problems....

CZW returns February 5th (because of boxing scheduled at the ECW Arena for February 12th)...which may well be Super Bowl Weekend for Philadelphia. Imagine the atmosphere in the building of the Philadelphia Eagles make it that far.
