Update on Shane Douglas ECW reunion show - date & venue confirmed
On Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 2:17 PM EST - PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson is reporting that the previously noted ECW reunion event that is being organized by Shane Douglas has been officially rescheduled for Friday, June 10 at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA. The show will have a 9pm belltime as it is slated to feature "adult content."
Douglas had been sending out contracts to a number of former ECW stars not currently under WWE contract with plans to reunite many performers from what was considered the "glory years" of the promotion from 1994 to 1997. Those include Sabu, Raven, The Sandman and many others. Tod Gordon has already signed on to be involved with the project, while TNA's Jeremy Borash will be involved with the production side.
As we noted earlier on WrestleView.com, Douglas had originally planned to run the event on Saturday, June 11. However, the Combat Zone Wrestling promotion had that date booked already and declined to give it up citing that a change would hurt their planned storylines going into June. It should be noted that there was consideration on running the Asbury Park Convention Center in New Jersey on June 11, but the decision was made to stay with the ECW Arena and run a day earlier on June 10.
