Badseed's Bottomline #317: Where's the Love?
On Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 2:29 AM EST Hey yo! My computer is back. For like a month, I have had no contact with the outside world, but I noticed that I wasn’t really missed. Where were the emails people? Badseed, are you ok? Badseed, is something wrong? No! You are all concerned about yourselves. What about Badseed? I have been having problems with women; too many around when all I want is just one, but Internet wrestling fans would not know anything about women, so why would you all care? HAHA! How did you like my heel promo? I have been a face for too long. Got to be the bad guy every once in awhile. The last time I was heel was when I blasted the WWA PPV and everyone said, Badseed, you are being too harsh, so I cleaned up and got cheap pops; now I just don’t care anymore. Badseed is back to being bad.
Wrestling is horrible right now. I am so tired of it every week. For the first time in years, I did not see a wrestling PPV, because it is not even holding my interest anymore. Smackdown is just a joke, as of late. How can you have Kurt Angle, Undertaker, RVD, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, John Cena, Booker T and the Dudley Boys on one roster and not do anything interesting with them at all? Kurt Angle stripped John Cena of the U.S. title and they finally settled their feud this week. They never fought at all until now. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Did they even bring up their rivalry during Angle’s days as GM? Of course not. I am surprised they even brought up their first encounter. I like how they still attack Cena’s kidneys, but he was stabbed in one and still fights on when he is attacked, but I got sick and was dehydrated and it took me longer to recover than Cena did from a stab wound. Just make sense when you write and please think ahead when you book. Is that so hard; I mean they have a tournament for the #1 contender slot and then they have the U.S. champ win and fight for the world title and if he wins, what do they do with the U.S. title? They can’t have another tournament for it and they can’t have a battle royal for it, since they have been doing those to death, so what next? He can’t lose the U.S. title now, because then he will lose steam and winning two titles would make him that much more important, but if only the WWE could think before they do.
What is up with the tag-team roster? The WWE has too many singles stars and it makes no sense, because they obviously can’t push them all into any role of importance. The cruiserweights are perfect tag-team opportunities on Smackdown and they always screw it up. Paul London and Kidman should have teamed for a lot longer than they did. Repackage Funaki and push him with Akio. It is a smart idea to sign Big Vito and have him team with Nunzio. Vito knows how to work the crowd and since he was in ECW, they could use him on the PPV, too. The FBI could be a really good team in the WWE. With Vito, the team could gain some level of respect with the crowd. The Bashams are needed, but how can you bring in the Shane Twins, when they have the same gimmick. One of the Bashams needs to grow hair. As soon as Michael Shane becomes available, sign him and bring back Kazarian and Shane as a team, because they were awesome in TNA. On Raw, La Resistance has sort of run its course and maybe Sylvio should go to Smackdown and team with Dupree again. Conway should find a new team. Tajiri and Regal are a good team, because they have history and I could see a feud between Tajiri and Rhyno vs. Regal and Eugene somewhere down the line. Hurricane and Rosey are dead and need to be split up. Steven Richards needs a tag-team partner, because he has a lot to offer. It only makes sense to pair up Simon Dean and Chris Masters. Why aren’t they thinking about that? I think Jericho and Benoit should team up for a bit for now and I like the Hassan and Daviari team up, because we know the little guy can really wrestle. This Heartbreakers team may not be that bad to have, either. If they could bring Swinger and Simon Diamond together with Dawn Marie, it would be really cool. The WWE is staring at some really good teams and they are messing it all up. Tag-teams made wrestling exciting during both booms. It only makes sense to bring up teams again.
The Intercontinental title has no meaning anymore. Shelton fights everyone and that is good, but he should have a main feud going into Wrestlemania. His title is the second most important title on Raw and they do nothing important with it. In fact, after the Royal Rumble, they should have played up the team of Haas and Benjamin and had Haas’ jealousy get the better of him, leading to an inter-promotional match between the two for the title. When it ends in a draw, Haas could demand a trade to Smackdown, to continue his quest and they would not have to do a draft to change the roster, because it would get old. Trades would be more shocking. The fans applauded the way Haas and Benjamin reunited and popped for their moves together, so there was a market for this match and the WWE dropped the ball.
Randy Orton should turn heel. He should be the driver behind the wheel that tried to run Batista over. Then he could rejoin Evolution and be the next to feud with Batista after HHH loses his match and rematch. I like Evolution and I think it should continue in name. It is a good group and it has not reached its boredom level yet, so keep it going for now. Plus, Randy Orton should be a heel when he feuds with the Undertaker. Oh, and he better win that match. It is time Undertaker passed the torch and Orton needs it.
Why the hell is Heidenreich still in the WWE? He doesn’t belong there. He is garbage. Snitsky is actually way better, because his look is different.
TNA was smart when they entertained the idea of an NWO vs. DX feud without really mentioning either group. They were also smart to take the New Age Outlaw name. The WWE made a mistake there and could that mean that they could reunite BG James and Gunn as the NAO? That would be so cool.
How the hell do you have Jarrett vs. DDP at the next PPV? DDP does not deserve the title and while I like the idea of Jarrett having a year-long reign, which is rare in wrestling these days and should not be, he needs to be fighting better quality opponents.
I liked the idea of Destination X involving an X Division tournament like the Super J Cup. I miss the old Crockett Tag-Team Memorial Cup and we need something like that again. It is exciting and the X-Division wrestlers are a perfect group of wrestlers to get the fans pumped up about TNA.
Batista is the man! He is the best thing about wrestling right now. It would be wise for the WWE to sign Brock Lesnar and set up a feud for next year’s PPV.
I will say that I love the way they booked the ending of the cage match. It was different and it reminded me of when Big Show accidentally helped Steven Austin win his cage match with Vince McMahon. There was some good writing there.
RVD should come back as a heel. He should come back with Bill Alfonso as his manager and he should feud with Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. The matches they would put on would be five star classics and most importantly, RVD could get a new push, more mic time and a reason to shoot against the WWE as a heel.
Finally, I hate to say this, but Ultimate Fighter is way better than wrestling these days. Much more entertaining. Don’t feel bad. Wrestling will be good again when the fools writing it start realizing the errors of their ways and offer me a contract to clean up the mess in the ring.
Well, that is all for now. As the countdown to Wrestlemania starts, maybe wrestling will get interesting again. We will soon see. I will be back next week. Until Simon Dean wins the world title, I am the Badseed and that’s the Bottomline. Peace
