James Gibson (Jamie Noble) Interview Recap from the Gerweck Report hotline
- Gibson said it was a childhood dream on his to become a professional wrestler. He started training with Dean Malenko in 1997.
- "It was hard," said Gibson of his days training at the WCW Power Plant.
- A little know fact. Gibson was released by WCW a short time after debuting on television. He worked for Robert Gibson in Alabama until Jimmy Hart came up with the idea of the Jung Dragon. It was Hart's idea to put Gibson under a mask. Gibson credits Hart for giving him his first break in wrestling.
- "As far as our chemistry, it was always there," stated Gibson on being apart of the Jung Dragons. He admitted that the group didn't always see eye to eye.
- His last appearance on WCW television was when Evan Karagias turned on him to reunite with Shannon Moore.
- "I don't think we had the chemistry to be successful," Gibson said of tagging with Karagias.
- Gibson said his best WCW match was at Superbrawl Revenge which featured Shane Helms vs. Shannon Moore vs. Kaz Hayashi vs. Jimmy Yang vs. Jaime Noble vs. Evan Karagias.
- He said his low point in WCW was being released.
- He admitted that he was scarred when WWE purchased WCW.
- "He always treated me good," said Gibson of Les Thatcher. At the time he was in HWA, Gibson trained with former WCW grapplers Elix Skipper, Kid Romeo, Shannon Moore, Kwee Wee and Evan Karagias.
- Gibson said the storylines in WCW were confusing, and hard for fans to follow.
- When he arrived in HWA, Gibson thought that he might be brought up to WWE within a few months, but continued to work and garner rave reviews.
- When asked when he learned he would debut on WWE television with Nidia, Gibson replied, "about three days before." Gibson admitted that he and Nidia both were really nervous, but developed good chemistry.
- He didn't feel Nidia being transferred from Smackdown to Raw hurt his push since their storyline had concluded.
- Gibson said he helped train Nidia for their one on one match at the 2004 No Way Out PPV.
- He said his greatest achievement in WWE was winning the Cruiserweight title from The Hurricane at the 2002 King of the Ring, but felt he had better matches with Helms.
- "I thought it was a bad storyline," said Gibson of the storyline where Nunzio arrived on the scene as his "cousin."
- Gibson said his September 2004 WWE release was just a business decision. He feels the door is open for a WWE return somewhere down the road.
- Gibson said he hasn't been keeping in regular contact with Nidia.
- WWE waived his 90-day no compete clause so that he could debut for New Japan about a month after his release.
- One of his biggest goals is to work the J-Cup tournament.
- "I hope they would have me," said Gibson if he decided to turn to TNA.
- Gibson plugged his upcoming shows.
- He put over Ring of Honor as a great promotion.
- Gibson said it was his idea to starting wearing the General Lee ("Dukes of Hazzard") tights.
- Gibson said he misses the money and television exposure the most about not being apart of WWE.
- He is looking forward to working with A.J. Styles and Low-Ki.
