- Although it was originally scheduled to be released this summer, the film "Doom" that stars The Rock (based on the very popular PC video game) has been pushed back to an October release date.

- Rapper Xzibit (and of MTV's "Pimp My Ride" fame) is said to be in final negotiations to join the Columbia Pictures film "Gridiron Gang" that also stars The Rock.

- The Rock is currently set to star in a new comedy film titled "Ride Along" with Ryan Reynolds (who starred in Blade: Trinity & most recently The Amityville Horror). Reynolds is writing the film and described the plot to MTV.com recently saying he was a cognitive therapist marrying Rock's sister, while Rock is a by-the-book tough cop in an inner city. Both end up together on a wild crazy crime caper-like story according to the interview.
