Hassan disrespects WWE agent, McMahon's recovery, Chilly Willy note
On Sunday, April 17, 2005 at 3:54 PM EST - During the WWE's last overseas tour before WrestleMania 21, Muhammad Hassan reportedly lost some locker room points by "unintentionally" disrespecting Sgt. Slaughter during a conversation backstage. Slaughter, who is a road agent for WWE, was giving Hassan some ideas for his match and Hassan openly disagreed with the advice. According to those who saw it, Hassan didn't appear mean or disrespectful about it, but came across as talking down to Slaughter as if he was just another guy backstage. Hassan was then "sentenced" by Chris Benoit and a few other RAW wrestlers to cover the bar tab for the workers that night, which was said to be around a few hundred dollars.
- Many backstage are still said to be impressed with how well Vince McMahon is recovering from his double-quad surgery. McMahon was spotted walking around ringside before fans were let into the Staples Center two weeks ago at WrestleMania 21. It should be noted that he wasn't jumping around or being extremely active, but gave the impression of someone who wasn't recovering from an injury at all. As noted before on WrestleView.com, the McMahon family is very against showing any sign of pain other than for storyline purposes. Some WWE wrestlers have even joked about Triple H's quad injury from a few years ago. "Vince recovered so quickly, it's making Hunter look bad for how long he took to come back from a single quad tear," said one WWE wrestler, but later added walking around and wrestling are two different things.
- To add on the WWE developmental release of Chilly Willy last week, WWE officials reportedly wanted to use his service in the U.S. Military in Iraq as a storyline for a feud between himself and Muhammad Hassan/Daivari. WWE felt they could market him in a war hero type of storyline. When Willy refused to exploit his service overseas for an on-air storyline, WWE officials soured on him big time. Willy, who didn't even like to talk about his military service behind the scenes, wasn't making enough progress in the eyes of WWE management and he was then let go.
