Backstage Notes from Lockdown PPV tonight, TNA stars give comments
On Sunday, April 24, 2005 at 5:28 PM EST Bill Banks has added an update on TNAwrestling.com regarding tonight's Lockdown PPV from Orlando, Florida. Here are some of the news and notes that were posted:
- Kevin Nash is at SoundStage 21 in Universal Studios for the PPV tonight in Orlando. He is scheduled to undergo therapy throughout the day as a personal physician will be on hand to help him out. TNA will be updating the fans at the start of the PPV regarding his condition and if a replacement will be named for the Lethal Lockdown Match that will see Diamond Dallas Page & Sean Waltman battle NWA World Champion Jeff Jarrett, The Outlaw and Monty Brown. A lottery will also be taking place throughout the night to determine the order of who starts the match.
- The main event, as noted weeks ago on WrestleView.com, will be AJ Styles vs. Abyss in the #1 Contendership Match for the NWA World Title. The winner will move on to face Jeff Jarrett at Hard Justice on May 15.
- The originally scheduled Apolo vs. Lance Hoyt match has now been changed to a Tag Team Match that will see Apolo & Sonny Siaki vs. Chris Candido & Lance Hoyt.
- The "Xscape" Match that involves Michael Shane, Chris Sabin, the returing Sonjay Dutt and Shocker will start as an elimination match. The final two left will fight to escape out of the cage to get the win.
- The "Prince of Darkness" Match between Dustin Rhodes and Team Canada's Booby Roode will be a 2 out of 3 falls match, with a blindfold hood being used for a third fall if needed.
- Greg Horn, TNA's set design coordinator, has reportedly gone all out for the Lockdown PPV tonight in Orlando. The arena will be resembling a maximum security prison as steel cages will line the arena and some parts of the seating area.
