As noted in an update on Saturday on WrestleView, TNA is expected to announce a new television deal with WGN this week after their Fox Sports Net deal officially expired this past weekend following a 52 week agreement. The initial word was that the announcement could take place possibly today or early Tuesday, but is expected nonetheless this week.

Although nothing has been confirmed at this point regarding an official timeslot, the word was that TNA was hoping for a Monday evening timeslot to resurrect the head-to-head competition on Monday nights (on a much lesser scale) for the first time since WCW went out of business in 2001. Some of the timeslots thrown out include 7-9pm (which would see them compete with the first hour of RAW) or 8-10pm (which would see the compete with RAW the entire night).

Once a deal is finalized, the goal was to debut the show live the night after the Slammiversary PPV on June 20. The taping format would see them run live once every other week and tape on the Tuesday's following the live broadcast, saving them much more money as opposed to their weekly deal with Fox Sports Net. As of now, TNA would continue to run all events in Orlando, FL at Universal Studios for the time being.

This situation will no doubt continue to develop througout this week as it did last week when details first began pouring in. We will continue to cover any information as it pertains to the television deal when it becomes available.
