In today's edition of Multichannel News, it was noted that TNA is not only in talks with WGN at this point for a new TV deal, but also continuing talks with Spike TV (the current home for WWE programming until the fall) and their former home on Fox Sports Net to carry the Impact! program.

The article notes that TNA is hoping to land a clearance where they are being paid a programming fee, as opposed to the deal they had with Fox Sports Net where they paid an estimated weekly clearance of $30,000. That deal with Fox Sports Net officially expires today (May 31) where the company averaged a 0.2 rating in their Friday afternoon and Saturday midnight replay timeslots.

When contacted a Fox Sports Network spokesman did confirm that they were still in talks with TNA, but declined to address anything specific regarding the negotiations. WGN declined to comment when contacted, while Spike TV stated that the network quote "listens to all different types of pitches and different types of programmers."

Regardless of the "rumors" and "hearsay" about this situation, it will continue to stay very interesting in the days or maybe even weeks to come. Again, reports earlier today did indicate that the company may have planned to announce a clearance with WGN today, but nothing has been officially confirmed by TNA or anyone else at this time.
