TNA Notes - Statement on TV deal talks, Jeff Jarrett & CMA, DVDs, more
On Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 1:40 PM EST Bill Banks has added a new "Bank Shot" column over on TNAwrestling.com. Here are some news and notes from this edition:
- Banks noted that some big things are on the horizon for TNA in the coming weeks with the Slammiversary PPV on June 19, new distributions on toys & DVDs, new superstars, more international exposure and the hot topic in the last few weeks regarding a new television deal. Banks noted that TNA plans on sharing the news first once something is concrete regarding a deal and that "there is so much incorrect information posted on other sites" at the moment about it.
- Jeff Jarrett will be a special guest at the CMA Music Festival Concert next Thursday on June 9 with other country stars such as Dolly Parton, Keith Urban, Dierks Bently, Lee Ann Womack, Trick Pony and many others. The concert will be held at the Coliseum in Nashville with an expected crowd of 30,000 to 40,000. CBS will be airing footage of the event and TNA cameras will be on hand as well.
- Two more matches are expected to be announced for the Slammiversary PPV on June 19. Banks hinted that some surprises are being talked about among the "matchmakers" in TNA and that if everything works out, we could see some very intriguing things from the event.
- The Against All Odds DVD will be available for purchase sometime this Monday or Tuesday. The Destination X DVD will also be released a short time later (which now features Christopher Daniels on the cover, DDP was on the original poster but has since left the company) and the Best of Jeff Hardy DVD titled "Enigma" is in its final stages of completion this week with a target release in June sometime. Work has also started on the Lockdown DVD that will feature some bonus backstage footage.
- The new design for TNAwrestling.com is still underway and scheduled to debut the weekend of the Slammiversary PPV. Lee South, Dan Burgess and Marcus Cygy have put in some hard hours according to Banks in preparation for launch of the new site. Some new features are expected including a TNA fan art area and chat rooms.
- "Mr. 630" Jerrelle Clark recently become a father last month. Banks joked that both Jerrelle and AJ Styles' kids would be accepting bookings by December.
