The following press release was issued on TNAwrestling.com:

MY ROAD TO SLAMMIVERSARY: TRACI

Nashville, TN (June 14, 2005) – TNA Knockout Traci has come a long way from a little girl on a pig farm in St. Mary’s Ontario. Her road to “Slammiversary” started in that little Canadian town of just 5,000 people and three television stations.

One of those television stations carried professional wrestling and that is where the little girl in pig tails knew she wanted to be a professional wrestler.

“I remember watching Ricky Steamboat and Roddy Piper,” said Traci “I must have been ten, but I was totally hooked.”

Traci told tnawrestling.com that she thought she was destined to be a pig farmer, a family trade, because she didn’t know how to become a wrestler.

“It’s not like hockey were you can just play and go to the minor leagues,” added the Knockout. “I always thought you could only learn to do it in Connecticut.”

Traci soon found out as she grew older that Connecticut wasn’t the only place to become a wrestler. In 2000, she enrolled in Sully’s Gym, a training school, in Toronto. But like most who enter the business, she soon found out that it wasn’t as easy as it seemed on that TV back in St. Mary’s. “I wasn’t a natural; it was hard and awkward at first. If wrestling was easy anyone could do it,” She said.

But Traci was chasing a lifelong dream and she wasn’t about to let a little hard work stand in her way. She completed her training at Sully’s and started a career as a professional wrestler. Working on independent shows across Canada and the United States until she ended up on national television as part of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

It is a tough life being a professional wrestler but Traci is just as hooked on the sport now as she was watching Steamboat. “I always use this comparison, it’s like golf, all it takes is that one swing that makes you come back, just one moment in wrestling and I can’t let go.”

After achieving her dream she has not lost the determination that got here past those long training hours and sleepless nights on the road. Much like TNA Wrestling itself, Traci looks forward to a brighter future and more success. “It’s amazing what I have been able to do so far,” added Traci “But, I still have so much more to go. This is just the beginning.”

Traci’s road has just begun and just like that of TNA Wrestling the road continues through “Slammiversary” this Sunday on pay-per-view.
