========================

The Big Mosh & The Angry Hero welcome Jeremy Borash back to the show, making his FIFTH appearance on the program. He’s pretty worn out from Hardcore Homecoming although he felt the event was a success. Jeremy acknowledges there may have been heat from the WWE for running an ECW reunion show in close proximity to theirs but it doesn’t faze him. He think the WWE was under a lot of pressure to provide a stellar and authentic ECW show. Jeremy says Tommy Dreamer’s negative comments about HH on WWE Byte This didn’t go over that well with the boys at HH. .

Jeremy sought to keep as much of a WWE influence out of Hardcore Homecoming, focusing on the history of ECW, most notably the ECW Arena itself and the early stars like Sabu and Terry Funk. He recalls the insane situation with the use of barbed wire in the main event of HH w/ Funk, Sabu and Shane Douglas. Jeremy talks actually having to help string the barbed wire himself and getting all cut up.

Jeremy talks a little bit about Mick Foley coming in as a referee in the main event. Mick brought out Mr. Socko and promptly got booed, so he wrapped Socko in barbed wire and made him “hardcore.” Jeremy mentions how they did their best to be cooperative with the Pennsylvania Athletic Commission, despite the issue with the barbed wire.

In discussion of the new ECW documentary, Forever Hardcore (www.foreverhardcore.net), Jeremy describes the DVD as the chance for guys who didn’t get airtime in the WWE ECW release to get their due. The DVD prominently features Raven, Sandman, Shane, Funk, Sabu (in a rare speaking appearance) and New Jack (talking openly about the Mass Transit incident

Mosh brings up comparisons of Forever Hardcore with Beyond the Mat. Jeremy points out how FH is about a particular era of ECW in the 90’s, not an overall look at the business.

Jeremy is proud of the overall Hardcore Homecoming card, representing a true ECW undercard, with all sorts of styles and matches throughout. He gives much thanks to Shane Douglas and Tod Gordon for helping put the card together. Jeremy regrets that HH didn’t have the means to be broadcast live on pay-per-view and readily available to the hardcore fans

After teasing the possibilities of a Hardcore Homecoming tour in the U.S. and Europe, maybe even Japan and Australia, Jeremy mentions how the boys were pleased with the creative direction of HH overall. He thanks his fellow TNA brethren in Scott D’Amore, Bill Banks, and Cassidy Reilly amongst others.

Jeremy addresses the situation of the TNA/WGN TV deal going south. He feels the company needs to make the right business decisions and not get into a TV deal that could kill the company. He sees no problem with TNA waiting for the right opportunity and was actually relieved the WGN deal fell through. Jeremy says despite the setback, TNA will persevere as it has for three years.

Jeremy describes the King of the Mountain main event match at Slammiversary as “hard to explain but easy to watch.” It’s a personal favorite of his and hopes it becomes a staple in TNA. Mosh jokes they should use the inactive NHL players as enforcers in the penalty box for the match.

After discussing some of the card at Slammiversary this Sunday, Jeremy puts over the new TNA booking committee, describing it as a young group of guys in tune with TNA’s target demographic. They are all good friends and it took some “toning down of the egos” to get things to fall into place

Jeremy says the situation with TNA talent working in Ring of Honor is pretty much back to square. He enjoys their product and puts over some of their big names like Samoa Joe, CM Punk, Austin Aries, Roderick Strong and particularly Jay Lethal

Mosh brings up the infamous Gary Coleman/Jeremy Borash story from a previous edition of MNM, where JB had to hang out with Gary while in Buffalo for WCW Fall Brawl 2000, spending hours in a hobby shop. Mosh asks if Gary will be in TNA seeing how he was just featured in John Cena’s video. JB jokes (?) that he gave Jeff Jarrett an extra $50 to hit Gary harder with a guitar and will assault Gary if he sees him again. Overall though, JB says he really isn’t a big celebrity guy but does hang out with the guys from the Blue Collar Comedy Show.

JB talks a bit about WCW getting buried more on WWE TV in light of the ECW revival. If he were Vince, he would have made a more concerted effort to make money off of his competition rather than bury it. Due to the negative perception of WCW, JB says he almost embarrassed that he worked for WCW, despite all the great times.

In closing, JB puts over the Forever Hardcore DVD and urges the fans to check out the Terry Funk feature over at www.foreverhardcore.net. Also, be sure to check out JB with Shane Douglas on the Slammiversary PPV pre-show this Sunday. Go to www.tnawrestling.com to check out the card and vote for your favorite moments in TNA history!
