Shane & Storm injuries, Samoa Joe's deal with TNA, notes on strict rules
On Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 2:00 PM EST Following the Impact! tapings on Tuesday night, Michael Shane was diagnosed with a hyperextended knee. In addition, James Storm also suffered a hyperextended knee as well. Both aren't expected to miss any time in the ring at this point.
Although not confirmed, it is believed that Samoa Joe has signed a two year deal with TNA. According to reports, Joe's contract will allow him to work internationally and for Ring of Honor as well. TNA's new booking committee has done a good job of establishing a better working relationship with ROH since the incident in 2004 and now many TNA stars have or are about to return to that promotion this year.
TNA made the decision to eject several people who work on the Northeastern independent scene from backstage at the Slammiversary PPV this past Sunday, including one worker for a promotion who actually walked into a backstage meeting and sat down as if to join in on the proceedings. It appears a number of people within TNA are pushing are more strict backstage access, especially those who come off disrespectful. Anyone not currently under contract with TNA were removed from the pre-PPV meeting as well.
