Waltman & Lynn revival feud, Monty Brown & NWA World Title + Jarrett
On Monday, July 4, 2005 at 3:27 PM EST A feud between Sean Waltman and Jerry Lynn is expected to take place later this year in TNA. Both expressed interest in reviving their feud. For those unaware, Waltman and Lynn had a series of classic matches in Minnesota in the early 90's that basically put them on the map, which carried over to the Global Wrestling Federation on ESPN.
It should be noted that Monty Brown was at one point considered to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title at the Slammiversary PPV earlier this month instead of Raven. However, TNA management is very high on Brown at the moment and felt his first big title win shouldn't come too early before he was ready. He is being looked at by many as the next big franchise player for TNA down the line. Brown has a reputation for having a great attitude backstage and among workers.
The feeling among many workers within TNA is that although Jeff Jarrett was looked down upon for pulling out of the King of the Mountain Match at Slammiversary (Jarrett felt it would be damaging to his career if he lost the match), the match itself was considered a lot better without Jarrett involved. It still should be noted that Jarrett lost a lot of respect from many workers within TNA for making his decision to pull out. One TNA source noted how Jarrett might have acted different regarding the situation. "Had he not been told he was regaining the belt originally, he probably wouldn't have had the temper tantrum about the finish," added one TNA source.
