Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Preview: Night Two of Second Birthday Weekend
» Reported by Ben Bauer of WrestleView.com
» On Sunday, July 10, 2005 at 8:10 AM EST

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's Second Birthday Celebration Weekend continues tonight in Los Angeles, with the following card:

AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels vs James Gibson for the PWG Title. Styles, the reigning PWG Champ, has defended against Daniels and Gibson in the past. He and Daniels fought to a 60 minute time limit draw at Jason Takes PWG, and Styles defeated Gibson at Guitarmageddon. Styles fought to a double countout last night against his mystery opponent, the all-around coolest, Frankie Kazarian. Daniels defeated Chris Sabin last night, and Gibson was working on the other side of the U.S. last night for some other indy company.

Kevin Steen vs Super Dragon- Number 1 Contenders Match. These two are building quite the rivalry in PWG in 2005. It started at All Nude Revue, where Steen, who won a #1 Contenders 4-way match earlier in the night, was defeated in a PWG Title match by then champion Super Dragon. At Night One of All Star Weekend, Steen failed to come up victorious in a Triple Threat for the PWG Title against then champion Super Dragon and Steen's longtime rival El Generico. Steen was revealed as Super Dragon II at Jason Takes PWG, and was on the winning side of a tag match with Excalibur against Super Dragon & Disco Machine at Guitarmageddon. Then, last night, the team of Steen, Disco Machine & Excalibur swept a Six Man Elimination Tag against Super Dragon, Human Tornado & El Generico. Throw in a future PWG Title match for the winner, and this one has plenty of reasons to watch.

Arrogance vs Chris Sabin & Petey Williams. Arrogance, who were the longest reigning PWG Champions in the company's history, lost the belts to The AXP last night. Now, they're out to get back on the road to the titles against TNA regulars Petey Williams & Chris Sabin. Arrogance retained their tag belts at All Star Weekend, Night 2 against Sabin and Frankie Kazarian, and then Scott Lost got a Canadian Destroyer from Petey after the match.

Ricky Reyes vs a mystery opponent. All we know about this mystery opponent is that it won't be Frankie Kazarian, as PWG's site says the two mystery opponents, one on night one (Kazarian) and one on night two (Reyes' opponent) are not the same person. Reyes remains undefeated in PWG since All Star Weekend after defeated Petey Williams last night.

Mr. Excitement vs Joey Ryan. Honestly, I don't know anything about Mr. Excitement. He was on two of PWG's first five shows, and then was gone until last month. Joey Ryan is cool though, so if Mr. Excitement is even half as exciting as his name implies, this should be pretty good.

Davey Richards vs "Pinoy Boy" TJ Perkins. Perkins, who also wrestles as Puma in PWG, has quite an impressive win/loss record in PWG, tasting defeat only twice in 2003 and 2004 combined, and one of those was in the Tango & Cash Invitational to crown PWG Tag Champions at the start of 2004. Richards picked up a win last night against Shannon Ballard. Puma won a triple threat match at Guitarmageddon with Richards and Human Tornado.

PWG says the Tag Titles will be defended tonight. Aerial Express won them last night, but don't have a match booked yet. Plenty of choices though, as there are three teams booked for tonight that don't have a match yet. They are SBS (Disco Machine & Excalibur), HookGun (Hook Bomberry & Top Gun Talwar), and Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre).

Plus more to be signed, with El Generico, Human Tornado, and the lovely PWG Commishioner, "SoCal" Val Wyndham.

"The 2nd Annual PWG Bicentennial Birthday Extravaganza - Night 2" takes place at the Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC on Sunday, July 10, 2005 at 5:00PM. The Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC is located at 1110 Bates Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90029.
