TNA officials pull contracted talent from 2 events due to PPV Exclusivity
On Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 2:56 PM EST TNA officials have made the decision to pull numerous contracted TNA talent from events being promoted by Gladiator Championship Wrestling and WrestleReunion due to their deals with TNA stipulating concerns over exclusivity on pay per view. Gladiator Championship Wrestling and WrestleReunion both have plans to tape and possible release the footage on pay per view and DVD down the line.
In regards to Gladiator, TNA made the call to remove the talents from the show. In the case of WrestleReunion, promoter Sal Corrente made the decision to release all scheduled TNA talent from the show after receiving returned contracts because of the conflicts TNA's rights provided in their deals. Corrente did later comment that he contacted TNA personally and was told that TNA's talent could not give away PPV rights at this time.
Gladiator Championship Wrestling is still scheduled to run their show on July 23 in Puerto Rico with a line-up that includes Sting, Mick Foley, Lex Luger, Diamond Dallas Page, Sid Vicious, Jake Roberts and many more. Raven, Shane Douglas and Jerry Lynn were all removed from this show. In regards to the WrestleReunion event, TNA names dropped includes Raven, BG James and Ron "The Truth" Killings.
