Update on TNA & Spike TV - Television deal said to be finalized, and more
On Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at 4:54 PM EST Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com is reporting that TNA's expected television deal with Spike TV has been finalized and it's now only a matter of time until each of the parties announce it.
It isn't known if TNA had plans on announcing the news to the wrestlers at the tapings tonight for Impact! at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL. It wouldn't be surprising if a press release was to be issued very soon by TNA as they planned on announcing it as soon as they were allowed to.
As previously reported, TNA's timeslot on Spike TV would start this October on Saturday night's. TNA will be replacing the current timeslot WWE Velocity carries on the network at this time. There is no official word on when the final episode of Velocity airs on Spike TV and when TNA will replace it, although RAW debuts on the USA Network on October 3 so it is possible the final Velocity could either be on September 24 or October 1.
