Details about TNA's conference call earlier today regarding Spike TV deal
On Thursday, July 21, 2005 at 3:27 PM EST TNA management held a conference call with employees earlier this afternoon to discuss the new television deal with Spike TV. Dixie Carter spoke of the Spike timeslot as a "primetime slot" that was expected to begin this October. No mention was made of an exact debut date or an official time, but many expected the show will run in the 11pm ET/10pm CT timeslot that WWE Velocity currently holds.
As previously reported, Carter announced that the company would be going back to the old taping schedule of running once every other Tuesday for TV tapings. They were also sure to note that wrestlers who worked more than one Impact! taping would be paid twice. As of now, the first scheduled tapings for the Spike debut is on September 27 at Universal Studios in Orlando.
Other than that, nothing else of real importance came out of the call. Carter was sure to thank everyone for their hard work and patience. She also brought champagne to the TNA officies to help celebrate the new TV deal as well.
