Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com is reporting that Lord Alfred Hayes, a popular in-ring star in the 60s and 70s and later went on to become better known as an announcer for the WWF/WWE in the 80s, passed away last night at the age of 77.

Hayes has reportedly been in bad health for some time and was slowed down due in part some various ring injuries. He later contracted gangrene which caused amputation on part of his leg. Hayes also suffered a fall a few days ago in a Dallas area nursing home where he has been living in. The fall is believed to have caused a series of strokes and led to his death.

On behalf of the staff here on WrestleView.com, we would like to send out our condolences to the family and friends of Hayes at this very hard time.
