Pro's from the Palace (#39) - FLAME ON! Turning up the heat on WWE |

Ok, that's enough. I can keep quiet no longer. I need to vent...
What the hell, and believe me, I want to say something more colorful, is the WWE doing?
Let's go through this, specifically with the ridiculous Smackdown brand.
They have a pay per view three days ago, which according to Vincent Kennedy McMoron, was an absolute terd-bucket of a show, where the World Heavyweight Champion is disqualified for chair shotting the #1 contender and his little b*tch 11 times. We have a #1 contenders match for the championship where one of the characters is already a walking dead man, and the other one has been killed by politicians and the powers that be, it's just a matter of time to determine how he is destroyed.
We have a tag team championship match, while I am a huge fan of the Legion of Doom, Animal has not one bit of business back as a regularly scheduled competitor, he is in HORRIBLE shape. We have a six man tag match with absolutely ZERO buildup prior, although I did say I liked it considerably because of the ECW factor.
Now, and I can't go in to details if people don't want to be spoiled, but the #1 contendership match from sunday turns out to be a pure farce, a superstar who I had previously predicted would return at the Great American Bash ends up returning TWO DAYS LATER on a SMACKDOWN SHOW, the storyline I cannot stand for love nor money is still ongoing, even with the match that was supposed to technically end it occurred at the pay per view. We got Vince screaming about titles being defended in a piss poor manner, him telling his wrestlers to step it up, his wrestlers telling him creative is sucking the air right out of the show, and creative telling everybody....
It's not my fault.
THEN WHO'S FAULT IS IT?
I mean, come on, how blatant does this have to be? This follow up Smackdown show thursday night will invalidate the Great American Bash pay per view on so many levels, it's almost absurd. If the WWE didn't have talent griping before, I'd have to say by now they're about ready to tear down the walls of Stamford, Connecticut's headquarters. And let's not forget the lovely move to friday for this mish-mash band of misfits. How the hell does WWE intend on keeping this brand afloat when they kill their most viable tag team, the brass mocks the champion, and the pay per views are contradicted fourty eight hours later?
You tell me, then we'll both know.
I also thought when new talent comes on board, there is something that 'announces' them. Where the hell is the push for Kazarian's debut? He's done two weeks on Velocity, the equivalent of TV hell to literally NO HYPE?! If I was in the Future's shoes, I'd be re-thinking my career choice here.
Raw is not much better. A little, but not much. John Cena, for all the people who can't stand him, he continues to entertain me. His feud with Jericho is building to a war at Summerslam I am going to be very happy to watch. I would expect, following the events of this past monday, to see a Cena about ready to explode on both Bischoff, Jericho, and even Carlito, after the events that transpired. If memory serves, that loss for Cena is the first one he's suffered on television since winning the WWE title. Even if it was with the deck stacked severely, it's still a loss, and Cena tends to rebound with a massive amount of fury when his back is firmly planted against the wall.
HBK vs. Hogan. Ok, I admit it, twenty years ago, I was a Hulkamaniac. Sure, everybody was. Now, I can't stand it. This guy is taking this business to the limit of stupidity, and breaking new barriers. Michaels last week said something to the effect of "the same old schtick..." when referring to Hogan's performances in the ring. He's right! When have we seen, outside of the pitiful attempt of the NWO, when have we seen Hogan truly re-invent his character like others who have had careers to compare with his? Undertaker has reinvented his character what, six, seven times? Even Michaels himself has undergone those changes on multiple occasions, yet Hogan still does the stupid ear thing, the stupid boot, and the stupid leg drop. We all know Hogan's going to win, and the only thing I am going to say about this is one thing. WWE ought to be paying Shawn Michaels a TRUCKLOAD of cash for jobbing to this overhyped senior citizen.
Edge and Matt Hardy. Jesus, this one makes me just absolutely sick. OK, I admit it, the first week had me fooled. I thought it was a shoot. I thought it was legitimate, so did my wife. But since then, it's been ridiculously contrived, and it's not even FUN! Hardy gets what, two, three shots in before "security" practically dry BEEPs him, Edge sits back and curses like a drunken sailor, and the segment is over without even a peep out of the commentators. It's really turned in to the most predictable setup I've ever seen.
Who else honestly thought on both occasions, before the cage match, and after the stretcher match, that Hardy wasn't going to 'strike'? If you didn't think so, then you, well, nevermind. And the person who I have to believe is beginning to get really pissed off about this whole thing is Kane! Kane's been forced to job TWICE to Edge in matches that are supposed to be Kane's specialities. What happened to the fun Kane was supposed to be having at Edge's expense? Another pure example of WWE creative contradiction.
Can we please get to having these guys compete in a ring? Gimmick the crap out of it, it'll at least make for better viewing that watching morons like Snitsky and Chris "I can't get enough of myself Lex Luger wannabe" Masters.
We've got, to paraphrase Shelton Benjamin, a toe sucking psycho, and a musclehead getting MAJOR time on Raw, meanwhile, we've got legitimate tag teams in Ohio Valley Wrestling that are just stuck there, with no place to go. Matt Cappotelli has done a tremendous amount of tagging from what I can read, why can't he get a chance and feud with Nitro, possibly on Smackdown, garnering a tag partner in the process? Why must we be forced to deal with such non-charismatic so called personalities that wouldn't be caught dead at a graveyard?
I'm telling you, ladies and gentlemen, reading the spoilers for this week's Smackdown has infuriated me to no end. To the point that I am ready to kill my allegiances to WWE, and continue watching the streams of Impact until they debut on Spike. THEY may have some wrestlers that don't belong in the sport anymore, i.e., Sean Waltman, David Young, etc., but for the doofus so called talent they have, they also have guys like Jerry Lynn, AJ Styles, Monty Brown, Samoa Joe, & Christopher Daniels. Quite honestly, I'd rather pay to see those guys than some of the trash WWE is sending out.
Lastly, why isn't the indies going nuts over these angles with guys like Matt Hardy and CM Punk? These two guys are using the independent federations as like springboards for their jumps back to WWE, and I would've thought it would drive the indies nuts. Each one of them are out there trying to survive, and their talent is basically spitting in their faces by flaunting their position with the biggest company on the continent with regard to pro wrestling. I think it sucks. Punk is totally invalidating the prestige of the ROH title by his antics these past few months, and Hardy, well, I am tempted to show up at the signing he is doing in August here by me, and tell him what to do with his storyline angle. Flush it down the toilet bowl, along with his career.
This is really turning in to some ridiculous programming for anyone who appreciates the sport of pro wrestling. I needed to say my piece about it. Go ahead and kill me on it, now. I welcome the flaming emails. Click here to set me on fire, electronically. (email)
Kimosabe, sumo?!?!?!
