WWE got some more bad publicity regarding the Muhammad Hassan character from TV Guide. In the issue dated from July 31 to August 6, a "Cheers & Jeers" section included Hassan. He was obviously included in the "jeers" section and it read as follows: "Jeers to the WWE for a tastelessly timed stunt. On the same day as the terrorist bombings in London, UPN's Smackdown! aired a match in which one Arab grappler appeared to sacrifice himself, and another knelt and prayed. UPN ran a parental-advisory crawl, but it should've put the smackdown on the whole segment."

There are said to be numerous media outlets covering Hassan's current status with WWE at the moment. There still remains no definite update regarding his status with the company, although it was believed he would be heading back to Ohio Valley Wrestling for the time being.
