8/29 SmackDown event, women protest WWE event, House Show note
On Monday, August 1, 2005 at 1:55 PM EST A commercial has been running on the UPN affiliate in North Charleston, SC for the upcoming SmackDown house show on August 29. Two matches confirmed on the commercial include Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit and Batista vs. Muhammad Hassan for the World Heavyweight Title. Given the circumstances recently regarding the Hassan character in WWE, that second match obviously won't be taking place.
WCAX TV in Burlington, Vermont ran a story today noting a group of women protesting outside of yesterday's SmackDown brand House Show. The gist of the complaint from the group was that pro wrestling helps "desensitize children to violence, and promote bullying and violence against women." For more, click here.
