Possible rumor killer on Bret Hart & SummerSlam involving Hogan/HBK
On Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 4:02 PM EST As of last night, there was no deal for Bret Hart to be at SummerSlam this Sunday in Washington, D.C. on August 21. Hart was never approached by the company to make an appearance at the show, although many were led to believe that he could do so given how much his name has been dropped regarding the Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels feud. Playing his titantron and music last night in Montreal only seems to fuel these rumors.
It should be noted that Hart is scheduled to take part in the NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest in Charlotte this weekend. The fanfest does end when SummerSlam is just starting to begin, so some have already stated that they wouldn't be shocked if WWE was to work out a deal with Hart so he could be taken to Washington via a charter jet.
However, many don't feel this is likely given that Hart has stated on more than one occassion that he would have no interest in playing a "character" on WWE TV at the moment, especially if it were to play off the events that took place in 1997 at the Survivor Series event in Montreal. Despite all this, it is possible WWE could make a push at Hart to be at the show this Sunday. Either way, we will keep everyone updated on this situation.
