Update on Chris Jericho's post-SummerSlam status, Hardy/Lita & more
On Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 3:30 PM EST All signs are pointing to this Sunday at SummerSlam being Chris Jericho's last date with WWE for a while. As reported on a few weeks ago when Jericho's contract status with the company was made both public by wrestling websites and on WWE's official website, Jericho signed a short-term extension on July 25 in Cleveland, Ohio when his full fledged contract was nearing expiration. Following SummerSlam, Jericho will be taking some time off from WWE and working on projects involving Fozzy and most likely a much needed break from the road.
According to reports, Jericho does intend on coming back to WWE, but may do so a few months following SummerSlam. Although previous reports stated that TNA could be an option for Jericho once they debut on Spike TV, those close to Jericho state jumping to another company is the farthest thing from his mind. It wouldn't be surprising if WWE was to run an angle on RAW the night following SummerSlam involving Jericho to disprove these reports.
