SummerSlam Notes - Hogan vs. HBK, Dish Network, and local coverage
On Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 8:03 PM EST According to reports, the word internally within WWE is that SummerSlam is being considered the "Hogan-Michaels PPV." If the match draws well buyrate wise, then they will get the credit for the success of the show. If the match tanks and buyrates are not that strong, then both will end up taking the blame.
On a related note, Dish Network is currently running a 30 minute special titled "SummerSlam Recall" on channel 456 this whole week in preparation for SummerSlam tomorrow night on pay per view. The special appears to have been taped a few weeks ago as Marc Loyd hosts the show. Loyd was released from WWE in early July.
The Examiner in Washington, D.C. has two articles up hyping SummerSlam this Sunday night. The first runs down the card for the event, while the second takes a look at Batista's homecoming tomorrow night. To check out both, click here.
