AudioWrestling.com Interview Recap: Insane Clown Posse tells all on this week's edition of Get In The Ring
Sir Adam and The Phantom interviewed Violent J and Rude Boy from Insane Clown Posse on the latest edition of the Get In The Ring wrestling show heard exclusively on the AudioWrestling.com website!
The show kicked off with the hosts commenting on Summer Slam (putting over HBK), reactions to WWE's jobbing of Matt Hardy and more. The hosts also spent time addressing comments made by other wrestling radio shows about them and they discussed which wrestling radio shows out their that they like.
Violent J and Rude Boy joined the show, here are some highlights from this 45+ minute interview:
*Phantom asked how come Shaggy (the other member of ICP never does interviews), Violent J explains that although Shaggy is a better athlete than himself, Violent J is the ICP member with the true passion for the wrestling industry.
*Phantom and Sir Adam got caught off guard when Violent J began talking about their new book "Mysteries of Wrestling Solved." Violent J put over their book and said he is about 60% through it and says reading it is like watching a great wrestling documentary. The hosts were flattered that Violent J was a fan of their book.
*Violent J explained that he became a professional wrestler before he ever recorded an album. Violent J said the night of his first match (1991) he met RVD and Sabu and has been friends with them ever since.
*Violent J is very classy in this interview and shows nothing but respect for the wrestling industry, he understands why some wrestlers don't respect him as a wrestler because he made his living outside of the wrestling industry and then returned to wrestling when wrestling companies realized ICP's involvement would help their fanbase. ICP discussed how they would get beat up in WWF when they stepped in the ring.
*Violent J explains he has always been a dirt sheet reading hardcore fan of wrestling.
*ICP says that WCW would remove many ICP signs from the crowd before Nitro began because WCW didn't want ICP to get more over than certain other talents.
*Violent J says that when he shows up to indy shows (without face paint, just in normal clothes) that Jim Cornette has kicked him out of the building (this has happened more than once). Violent J says he always respected Cornette and that he never had any type of dislike for Cornette until Cornette went so anti-ICP.
*ICP put over TNA and said that they didn't burn their bridge with them. ICP hopes they can return to TNA at some point when the timing is perfect. ICP wants to come in and make an impact, but does not expect or want to be put over by TNA's top guys. ICP mentions they will be a perfect "mystery tag team" for a tag match or battle royal in TNA. ICP says they booked tons of TNA stars for their "Gathering of Juggalos" event and the TNA guys gave A+ efforts for the show.
*The hosts discussed how Terry Funk put over ICP the last time Funk was on GIR. ICP put over Funk and how he gives 100% even when the promoter tells Funk that it is okay to take it easy. ICP told a story of eating dinner with Sabu and Terry Funk at the Double-cross Ranch.
