The Big Mosh opens the interview with mention that Gibson is the current ROH World Champion, and is defending the title this week in The Mayhem's stomping grounds of Buffalo, NY, against Colt Cabana at "Dragon Gate Invasion." Gibson notes that he's just taking this week easy after a brutal few months, before the big match against Colt this weekend. The Big Mosh then asks what James' thoughts are as a whole on Ring of Honor over the past few months, having the chance to work guys like Samoa Joe, Chris Daniels, and CM Punk, as Gibson responds by saying that it was "gut-check time", noting also that it was his fourth, and possibly final, title shot. He describes the night he won the title as "awesome," noting that his wife was in attendance, and it was in Dayton, Ohio.
The Big Mosh then mentions this weekend's match against Colt Cabana, again, and gives James Gibson the chance to describe his thoughts going into the match in more detail. James gives his thoughts on Colt as a worker, stating that he's watched some past matches of Colt's, and noticed the big change last weekend in New Jersey against Nigel McGuiness, where Colt showed "a whole new side to him." Gibson than says he thinks it will be an excellent match, and warns the fans not to get caught up in who to cheer for, but to get caught up in watching the match itself, pitting the "versatile" Colt Cabana against the "geared up" James Gibson.
The man that James Gibson beat for the ROH World Championship, and also another recent WWE acquirement, CM Punk is mentioned. The Big Mosh asks what James' thoughts are on Punk, and the title reign that he had, fooling a lot of people by retaining it show after show. James states that Punk is underrated in his opinion, and "knows the game," and calls him an overall great professional.
The Big Mosh then mentions that James Gibson and Spanky have signed back with World Wrestling Entertainment, and then asks what it took in the decision making process to go back to WWE, instead of continuing on the independent scene, Ring of Honor, and possibly TNA. James states that although he would regret not going to TNA, due to the talent there that he would like to have the opportunity to work with, he mentions he was one of the few that never bad mouthed World Wrestling Entertainment, and always wanted to go back.
Co-host Eric Steel asks what, if anything, Gibson learned in his first stint in the WWE, and what he expects to come out of it when he returns. Gibson mentions that he doesn't know what to expect when he goes back, how he's more professional and mature now to take what's thrown at him, and how he's going to go back and "make it work" this time around. The Big Mosh then mentions how Spanky is returning with him, and asks where James thinks he will end up in the WWE, in which Gibson answers by saying he doesn't want to talk for Spanky.
The Big Mosh then talks about the influence that Ring of Honor has as of late in both WWE and TNA, with both sides using ROH talent, and also Matt Hardy coming out and saying the 3 letters ROH right on television. Gibson starts off his thoughts on the whole ordeal with Matt Hardy by giving props to him, by busting his butt in Ring of Honor instead of just coming and doing a half-assed effort. He then addresses the use of talent part by using his ROH Championship match as an example, stating that it was 2 WWE contracted superstars against 2 TNA contracted superstars, and says that the shared use of talent is for the better of the business.
The two "dream matches" at this weekend's ROH show are talked about, with AJ Styles against CIMA and Christopher Daniels against Shingo Takagi. The Big Mosh asks what it will be like, as students of the game to the four mentioned above, to watch all 4 in action. James states that he will be watching, as he has a lot to learn, with the Japanese greats in CIMA and Shingo, and two of the best in wrestling today, in AJ and Daniels. Samoa Joe vs. Nigel McGuiness is mentioned again, for the Pure Title this weekend, as Gibson gives his thoughts on both competitors in the match, and how both will definitely be ROH Championship competitors in months to come. Gibson also states that he would like redemption from his loss this past June in Buffalo, where Joe made him tap out. He then remembers that Nigel McGuiness dropped him right on his head, causing some unfinished business between the two.
The Big Mosh then notes the difference between match lengths between ROH and WWE, and what he will do going from half hour matches in ROH to 10 minute matches in WWE. Gibson says that it won't be too much of a problem a few weeks in, and the real problem in the long matches is the heat exhaustion that one can suffer from in hot buildings that ROH competes in.
Former WWE superstar Frankie Kazarian is the next topic of discussion, when The Big Mosh mentions that Gibson vs. Kazarian would be a match that he would like to see in the WWE. Mosh also mentions that he was unhappy, just a month after his WWE debut, in which he left the company, and asks Gibson what his thoughts are on that decision. Gibson states that he doesn't know what Kazarian's main goals are, and doesn't want to speak for Kazarian either. Gibson states that his goal in wrestling, is to be on WrestleMania, and how that must not have been the same goal that Frankie Kazarian had. He then mentions that it could be that he might think that he didn't have an opportunity, although four or five minutes on Velocity, on television, in front of thousands upon millions, is an opportunity.
The Big Mosh then mentions some of the guys in the current Cruiserweight Division in the WWE, and what he expects out of it, with some of the guys he used to wrestle, now also being released. Gibson states he has a lot of unfinished business, and now that he is a better wrestler than he was the first time around, he is going to give everything he has now and no longer has to ask himself "What if?" Eric Steel then comes in again, asking Gibson what he thinks makes himself stand out over the rest of the roster. Gibson calls himself super versatile, super tough, and says that he has super underrated promo skills. He again states he is just going to give the best that he has to offer, while setting personal goals to achieve.
The Big Mosh then asks if there will be a character change in store for Gibson, which he responds by saying that he just wants to get the chance to be himself, which is where he gained all the knowledge and success on the independent scene by doing. He says while "they" are the boss and could turn it all the way around on him, "they know what they're doing."
The transition of SmackDown from Thursday to Friday nights is the next topic that Big Mosh asks James Gibson about, and how he thinks ratings will go with the move to the possible worse timeslot. Gibson states that he doesn't know, but hopes that the new faces and new matches will be enough to get people to tune into on Fridays, where families usually spend the most time together, whether its going out to dinner, or adults going to a bar.
The recent 20 WWE firings are then asked about, as the Big Mosh asks who out of the 20 Gibson thinks will be brought back in the future. He mentions that he was brought back, regardless of his frustrations, and can see any of the 20 come back in the future, with some of them needing to "get it" first, in order to come back. He mentions a lot of them won't succeed in the independents asking for 1,500 dollars for one nights work on the independent scene, where 300 people at 10 dollar ticket prices could be a sellout. He mentions that some of them will have to wake up before they start wrestling every week in the business again.
The Big Mosh then mentions WrestleMania 22 coming to Chicago in April of 2006, and asks that if Gibson has a shot at a spot on the WrestleMania event, who would his opponent be. Gibson responds with "Without question, it would be Rey Mysterio," talking about their past great matches, how he is an easy target to get heel heat, and how their chemistry in the ring clicks to near perfection.
Over the course of the interview, Gibson kept mentioning "unfinished business" that he has, both personally and professionally, and The Big Mosh asks what all of the unfinished business is. Gibson says that his unfinished business is that he has yet to prove himself, and how he doesn't want to be labeled as a guy that got fired. Some of the goals he mentions are making money, wrestling, and getting on Pay-Per-Views.
